THE KING OF CROSS - A weekly-ish SFxT online tournament - TKOC1 results posted

Don’t forget to join the facebook group!

Stop by the IRC! www.efnet.org #SFxT

Hosted by Scrub Saibot.

To be livestreamed by… nobody yet! (Contact me if you want to stream the tournament!)

Date: August 4th, 2013

Time: The Xbox 360 tournament starts at 12PM PST/3PM EST and the PS3 tournament starts at 2PM PST/5PM EST. If you don’t like these times, let me know and I’ll think about changing them!

Platforms: Xbox 360 and PS3

HOW TO REGISTER:

Register by posting a comment on the facebook event page. There will be a link to the event page at the bottom of this page. The comment should contain (1) the console you want to play on, (2) your XBL gamertag or PSN ID and (3) your location (state/country).

Signups will close 30 minutes before the beginning of the tournament so that I have time to make up the bracket. This means signups close at 11:30AM PST for Xbox 360 and 1:30 PM PST for PS3.

FORMAT RULES:

Right now there will be no separate tournies for east and west coast, just separate tournies for PS3 and Xbox. However, I will seed the brackets so that you will not have to play an opponent who lives far away from you early on in the tournament. This is to avoid laggy matches early on.

Double Elimination Bracket
Best 2 out of 3 games in a set except for Winner’s, Loser’s and Grand Finals, which are 3 out of 5.

GAMEPLAY RULES:

All non-default gems are BANNED. If you are caught using any non-defaults at all, you will be IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED.

You can only switch your team composition after a match in a set if you lose the match in question. This also includes team order, even if you use the same two characters!

NO TEAMS. This is a solo-only tournament.

PROCEDURE: (How the tourney will be carried out)

All participants must be logged into the #SFxT IRC chat room by the time registration closes. If you don’t know how to log into the IRC chat, go here:

IRC info: #SFxT IRC chatroom on Efnet, come one, come all!

When I need you to play a match, I’ll tell you in the IRC chat in the following way…

(Jimbob42) VERSUS (Billyjoe87) STARTING NOW

Both players should then play their match in a private endless battle lobby. If your opponent is not showing up, let me know in the IRC chat. My IRC name will be ScrubSaib.

You have FIVE MINUTES to show up for your match after your match is called, if you do not show up, you will FORFEIT.

I will post the challonge bracket to the IRC chat at regular intervals.

Good luck and have fun! See you Sunday!

Damn Europe has to step it up.

Man I have only one arcade in town which I know of and everyone goes there to play pool or snooker, they have 1 sf4ae machine and 1 tekken 6 machine, but there is never anyone playing those (anymore at least, used to play tekken 6 with a few people there regularly), and no cue either. Oh, I live in the capital btw so this is the best I can get around here. Thankfully I know of a few hungarian sf4 players who are relatively good and we can sometimes meet up for matches offline but thats about it…

Jelly levels of USA FGC over 9000

That said we could also host some online tournaments, would be better than nothing I guess.

If the PC scene were larger we could have some tournaments there… I have a decent number of friends, but not many of them are on SRK it seems.

However, with spectator mode broken the tournaments would be super lame to watch lol.

Yeah this is the biggest issue lol

I’m pretty sure we could gather at least 16 people (I can name 10 off the top of my head who are good and would probably participate)

…what are you guys talking about

Are you in the right thread?

Sorry, I guess we shouldn’t be talking about potentially doing a tournament on PC… Carry on!

I think he meant that for my rant about how Im jelly of the USA FGC

Results!

Are we gonna have another one of these soon? I haven’t heard anything about these tourneys since we had the first one.

I’m taking a break from SFxT for a bit. If someone wants to run one then someone else has to do it.
