BTW does WGF hit crouchers? in Tekken it was able to hit mid (except Jin whose WGF always hits high) until T4 where anyone can crouch to avoid it/make it whiff…
and has anyone used the Gutpunch as an Anti-air (i dunno if its armor covers his entire body though) and if the EX GP hits airbonre opponents does the follow up corkscrew upper still come out?
might be easier on hitbox but tbh seems easy enough on stick. someone already mentioned this, but SF / umvc3 players have this habit ingrained of doing the motion before the button press. for ewgf it’s just that the last motion is at the same time as the button press.
Hey guys, sort of a weird question but I thought I might ask. My team right now is Jin/Kaz, and I’m having a lot of fun with them. Struggling to learn them, but over time I think I’ll be pretty good with them (I hope). What I was wondering, was what characters from Street Fighter are the equivalent of Kazuya (and Jin I guess) in terms of play style? I’ve never played any Tekken games, only Street fighter. Hopefully that makes sense? Thanks.
Here is a link to the EWGF thread where they explain the move. Rising uppercut has 2 different versons, the regular is WGF (MP/HP follow up after mist, 70 dmg, -1 on block) while EWGF is the just frame version of that, you MUST press MP/HP at the same frame that you press DF, there is no mist it’s just it’s own move. It does 100 dmg, it’s +1 on block, has more juggle properties etc etc.
has anyone tried using the Gutpunch as a late anti-air against deep jump-ins? and if you do EX to AA does the corkscrew uppercut follow up still come out?
Yeah it works. Just that you have to be close with cr HP, then you can go in qcb LP+MP. But if you do it against a high air opponent, you can also do a st HP into qcb LP+MP.
I use c.hp for anti air but if you don’t space/time it correctly you’ll trade hits or go under them.
Unless you know its going to be counter hit I would not cancel the c.hp.
I would just go for a sweep and get the hard knock down.
i am currently playing on a hitbox stick its actually harder to get the motion fo ewgf perfect because you must get 3 button presses perfect: the forward+ down and the mp/hp but that said my mist step motions are consistant and fluid sp it may be a timing issue but yeah its a bit harder but more consistant as a trade off.
Do you guys have any tag combos? I’m having a hard time increasing damage by spending meter, since you can’t follow up from tag cancelling from wgf/ewgf (at least I couldn’t in the corner) and once you have enough ewgf the super/ground bounce won’t connect anymore?
At a basic level no, mist step is easy once you get the hang of it, his combos deal good damage and are easy to perform. At the highest level he’s probably the most execution heavy character.
