The Juri Thread

I think it was S-Kill who said that Kazuya can dash through low Tiger Shots.

Yep, he said everything except for low pokes.

Kazuya is gonna be a 7-3 then I bet. Remains to be seen but that’s a powerful tool against Juri.

How can even consider proposing a 1 on 1 matchup ratio?

There are two characters on each team.

I wasn’t really commenting on matchups, rather just saying that Kazuya will be a handful for Juri when they are the principal fighters on screen. Was badly worded perhaps but that’s what I meant.

So you’re gonna have a match-up list with every possible team combination? Good luck with that. You’ll have to look at the match-ups in a 1vs1 point-of-view, and maybe a few top tier teams.

what? the game is still 1 on 1, when Juri is on the screen against Kaz whoever you have as a second character doesnt affect what goes on in this matchup.

and if the command dashes really go through low fireballs then thats completely retarded imo, especially if they can still do rapid ones like in the vids of the very early builds.

You should of let him do it his way, 2450 match up sounds better than 50. :wow:
I don’t think the sagat kazuya match up will be 7:3 kazuya’s favor. More like 6:4 because sagat has better normals

You guys are thinking in terms of SFIV, this isn’t SFIV.

It’s not SFIV but the principal of matchups still applies. There’s gonna be gamechanger in this as you can bring in another character into the mix but the core mechanics are still that of a fighting game so there are gonna be characters who are going to fare relatively better or worse against each other the same as any other fighter.

How characters match up will most certainly apply. But I don’t think it will be as severe.

…its still the same shit, its not like you have assists and shit from the second character.
Its still A vs A unless you bring B in then its B vs A. Its not A+B vs A+B, shit is still the same as how SF4 matchups work.

juri is pretty good from what i can tell off of just one game i played at wnf D; dive kick doesn’t seem as good because the game itself is very clunky movement-wise (they want you to use speed gems, i guess) and jumps end up being really slow. but she has good buttons and it really counts, as well as a variety of links aside from the L-M-H-H chain. i also played cammy but dive kick = bad still, and her cr.hp seems punishable, or maybe it was the launcher attack i mashed out afterwards, hard to tell since i had 0 time with the game. i’m more intrigued to try the tekken characters since they might own the ground. juri is definitely good though

mk fireball does not nullify sonic boom. strange but true

that’s interesting. maybe it’s because they want to keep guile a tough match for juri. i always felt that guile was one of her hardest matchups in super and a.e. but in ae 2012, i felt that the balance of the match changed, mainly due to the ultra 1 buff.

anyways, i think that juri is going to be less reliant on projectiles in this game. depending on when they started developing sfxt, i think it’s possible she was designed with this game in mind.

From what I’ve played mate she’s just as reliant on fuhajin, it’s still brilliant as a zoning tool too. I have only given her a quick go really but she seems like the same animal in sfxt as she is in sf really: zoner extraordinaire with burst damage in spades.

she definitely is a similar monster to her sf4 counterpart from what i can tell. but her opportunistic damage output is now greater with basic chain into tag combo, or any j.mp into some kind of combo.

will have to find out what fuhajin does to other projectiles in training mode once i get the game =P

can she do: lp fuhajin store, j.hk, cr.hp, fuhajin release, cr.mk into chain into launcher?

also, any noticeable differences to her teleports?

now that i think about it, wont her teleports work on everything now seeing as there’s no “armor break” in this?

Is it confirmed there’s no armor breaking moves in the game?

No armor breaker.
some characters have super armor moves.
