The Juri Thread

But my ponit is, HES ALWAYS PLAYED THIS WAY! His AE Juri is the same way. I think he blocks much less than he reversals.

>.> At least I get hit TRYING to block. I should stop trying to block all together. Then I will be the best Juri in US. Juicebox still > Neo.

Vulcan Hades - Ran into you using that Yoshi/Juri team last night. Nasty stuff man! I was having a pretty solid weekend, getting a lot more wins than losses, but I couldn’t touch your crazy team. Good to see someone using something different too. GGs

Ah, I remember that GT. But I’m not sure I remember your team. You were using Juri+Ryu? Or Juri+Chun Li? edit: Juri and Asuka, I just checked my replay channel. :stuck_out_tongue:

Personally, the team I can’t touch at all is Rufus+Heihachi. I’ve found ways to beat Hugo, Rolento and Gief. But dat stupid dive kick man… And Heihachi with his parry that leads into full combos is so wack. You just can’t pressure Heihachi without risking to lose 40% of your health.

against Heihachi use cl.MK, cl.HP, f.MK, dives (basically anything airborne as he cant counter those). Sadly Senpusha isnt considered airborne so he can counter that ~____~

Actually SabishiiRyu and Perkuta from streetfighterxtekkenforums.com said they just played you too. Gave em a beating. Good, those fellas deserve it.

Nah I’m pretty sure they beat me actually. :stuck_out_tongue: They were Zangief and Rufus if I remember correctly. I played like crap.

I also played Takamura 360 (don’t know if it’s the same takamura from the old SF4forums) but he was using Ken and Hwoarang I believe. I beat him once then he just murdered me like 3 times in a row lol. The thing I hated about his playstyle is that he had no fear whatsoever and was always willing to take huge risks. Like, he just blatantly walks towards me and decides to throw a random ass shoryuken even though he has no meter to make it safe. Just random. And he also kept walking up to me for a throw. NOBODY freaking throws in this game so I never actually tech. He saw that and started abusing throw. Smart guy.

So you heard it here first ladies and gentlemen, all you need to do to beat me is abuse throw. I’ll never tech. Which reminds me I need to use Juri’s close st.mk more often vs grapplers.

Yeah, I come read the boards a lot, but don’t post much. I’m getting one of those fancy Black Magic Intensity Shuttles fairly soon, so once I do, I’ll probably start posting some match vids so that I can get some feedback. I’m liking the Juri/Asuka team, although having played Juri in SSF4/AE, and Vega before that, Asuka is a HUGE playstyle change for me. She’s cool though. I agree on Rufus, he’s pretty silly, although I have a much easier time with him when I’m using Juri than when I’m using Asuka.

But yeah, you were one of the better players I ran up against throughout the weekend, so whatever you’re doing, it’s working well, haha. (On another note, I typically set the matchup to ‘same skill’ as I like fighting people around my skill range and BP-wise, you’re WAY above me. Love how that works out, haha)

Same here. I can never find anyone when I search for more skilled players. So I always set the search to same skill but it sometimes pairs me up with people with half my BP or less.

The search system is clearly bugged.

What are you guys doing vs a good Rufus?

Lose… sadly :frowning:

You need to use cr.mp vs Rufus.

cr.hp can work vs his dive kick but the problem is that Rufus players like to alternate between dive kicks and j.fierce and if he goes for jump fierce, your cr.hp will whiff and you’ll be open to his pressure. But using cr.mp prevents that. cr.mp beats his dive kick (at most ranges) and if Rufus goes for jumping fierce, your cr.mp will whiff but you will recover quickly enough to throw out a second cr.mp that will AA his j.hp.

Kasatushi could be good also to ass out from his ambiguous dive kicks when you’re not properly spaced to anti-air. I would use the Light version because good players can punish H Kasatushi on reaction most of the time.

Also, watch out when you’re pressuring him and he’s sitting on a bar. Rufus loves to use his EX messiah kick to get people off him.

That’s all I got lol.

w00t I just hit 10500 BP. I’m in the top 70 worldwide, 500 points away from WeirdoNeo. That was easy. :lame:

Strange how I can never find people with more BP than me even though there’s like 200 players worldwide around my level.

I’d prob be on my way up there if I could find another partner  Not really confident in my Juri/Jin team yet. Felt alot more comfortable in a pair. So for now I’m stuck at C rank.

I havn’t even played a single rank game yet. I like being low rank. RANK D FO’ DA BES!!

Haha, sounds like me in SSF4.
I wanted to play mostly ranked in this game but started out using 2-3 different teams so my points went all over the place!
haven’t touched ranked since as I’m focusing now on 1 team.

I’ll get backed to ranked once my Hwoarang gets stronger. Since the second week I haven’t done ranked except a few matches a few days ago (even bumped into eiSH which was cool). 3200bp is enough for now. I’ll eventually grind up to B rank and call it a day for ranked.

Juri’s Super Art works relatively well for anti-air. Tested on Rufus doing his jumping fierce, I can react fairly late (when he is at jumping peak) with Super and it will cross under and catch Rufus before he lands on the ground. Also works vs his dive kick but only if it’s done high enough from the ground.

Again vs Rufus’ dive kick/j.fierce, Juri’s standing jab seems to work pretty well. Doesn’t give you a counter hit very often though. Also vs dive kick it often creates an air reset but you can’t dash under. vs j.fierce, it whiffs but you recover fast enough to try another st.lp or cs.lk. The second jab/short might hit him out of the air or as Rufus lands. If you hit him as he lands, you can hit confirm into Senpusha or do a cross-rush for around 240 damage so it’s a pretty good punish.

Other alternative anti-airs I’ve been exploring are: dash under cr.mk/throw/Sekku and my personal favorite: bj.mp tag cancel.

Dash under cr.mk only works if they press buttons in the air. If they empty jump they will be able to block it. But if you dash under early enough and at the right spacing you can catch them before they land with cr.mp xx Senpusha cancel for a double dash under mindfuck.

Jumping strong creates a juggle state no matter if you get a counter hit or not just like j.fierce. So it’s safe to Switch on hit. With my team I can get 255 damage. Its not much for 1 bar but still pretty good considering cr.hp doesn’t work. Another thing you can do is store a counter hit then jump back roundhouse TC (310).

vulcan hades you rock. you really think of a lot of awesome stuff

Hi guys, I’ve finally found a use for EX Shikusen…

When it hits you can tag in and your partner can fully EX charge to a super while the opponent is being hit and wall bouncing. Of course it takes 2 bars and the damage is only okay, but might be worthwhile for far raw tag punish?

Been playing juri law. i know thats a low health team but you think i can still be sucessful? if not who’s a good partner for juri?
