I have a question! How do I link Anubis Polnareff’s stand A into stand B as seen in this match at 0:23. I can’t do it! I can do 1 frame links in other games within a certain number of tries, but I have yet to link those two normals, so I’m guessing there’s a trick to it.
Also as a sidenote, I never played Jojo’s outside of one time years ago at a friend’s house. I didn’t realize that it had such a big influence on doujin games; way more so than Guilty Gear. The 3 attack + special layout used by MB, EFZ, IaMP, Monster, and BBB (although to be fair, Real Bout used it first I think). Not being able to kill with chip damage is in at least 2 of those games, as well as a ton of move/character designs. This game really feels like a proto-doujin style game.
You guessed right! BagLunch made a post explaining Crouch Cancelling well at Dustloop. Basically, for stuff like rapid fire normals(or in many cases, Stand-related actions or even misc other stuff, test for yourself!), tapping down during the recovery of moves cancels the recovery faster than normal. So the simple answer would be to link those you would just do 5A->2->5B. Just takes timing, which I’m sure you won’t have a problem with now that you know the trick.
I’ve been playing with some Internet Friends on the private server with that really horribike MAME32PPK build, which runs kinda choppy on my pos machine. Really can’t wait until Elsemi adds all the CPS3 games into regular Nebula.
Also, I have another question. In this video, at 1:10 there’s a Kakyoin vs Iggy, and Kakyoin is small. I’ve heard of the kid mode in the dreamcast version, but from the sound of it, that’s something different from what’s shown in the video. Is there a code to play a mini version of your character? Perhaps only against Iggy?
I’m thinking that’s a bug of some sort, I don’t know how it’s done either. If I had to take a guess I would assume it has something to do with Iggy, and New Kakyoin’s “net” super that touches the whole screen, because New Kakyoin’s net super thing makes him small when he does it. Heheh doesn’t matter too much anyhow cause all of the hitboxes stay the same. It’s just a graphical change.
But as far as the kid mode thing are you sure it wasn’t referring to when Alessy’s stand turns you into a kid or whatever?
The ROM name is too long to play this on some Kaillera servers… What a shame! This game is loads of fun, but I can’t get into DaRoms (Says it’s full. Am I banned for some reason?) and Anti3D crashes when I try to connect to it.
Also, comparing Anubis Polnareff to Chaka; they’re played similarly but it seems like Chaka has a bit of a higher damage output. Thoughts?
The only way to play this at maximum potential online would be with a program pad. Land your first attack then hit the programed button to convientely kill your opponent and start the next round.
I’m a bit late with this, but it seems you can’t. The link is interchangeable, so you could do Crouching LP, Crouching LP, Standing FP or LP, LP, Crouching FP, but you couldn’t do c.LP, c.LP, c.FP or all standing either.
EDIT - Just rewatched this () combo video and I realise I was wrong somewhat. You can pull that link off, but the major thing to note is that it is a link and needs specific timing, unlike the chain combos you get when you activate a stand. I’m still pretty sure you cant do all standing though.
