The Jojo's Bizzare Adventure Thread!

I’ve had some bad laggy match ups, and I’ve had match ups that were more than playable.

I’ve had some really smooth matches with Japanese players and some really bad ones with supposedly local people. I’d say the ratio of “more than playable” to “underwater slideshow” is 80%/20%, with the overwhelming majority of matches being fun and playable.

I can definitely imagine that people who play characters that rely heavily on 1 frame links will have some problems, but it’s not impossible to adapt on a less than optimal connection.

Has anyone tested the game to see if there’s any difference in the performance or input lag than the arcade ver.?

Hey guys. I’m back. I’m primarily a Dio player, but I like a great deal of the characters. Nice to see stuff rejuvinated by the release on PSN/XBL.
I wrote a Dio analysis which I’d like to share, but this thread seems like hardly the best place to do it :frowning:
Don’t we have any forum at all for stuff like this?

Nice to see you still active, Gamegeezer, hope you’re still keeping that Polnareff sharp dude

'Tis a shame to hear. Let’s try to get a subforum going. perhaps throw in the thread from Fighting Game forum as well.

You can talk to Fayk and he’ll sign you up on standcrash. I’ve written the vast majority of the Dio page so far, but a new perspective would be welcome.

I’ll admit that some of it I disagree with already since I wrote it last month. Like, I was watching videos of WJ and some others, and I noticed that muda oki is usually just muda starting out. I understand why they do that now because it allows you to be as close as possible to the opponent when starting the mixup over 5C>muda. The downside is that I don’t believe muda is a meaty like 5C is, so there’s the chance of wakeup super punishing it.

Also, could you post your write up here, so I can read it.

Well at least I get to see more matches of Jojos being played again.

Guys, I want to know if this game is worth buying? I am from Eastern Europe and there’s barely anyone playing the game on GGPO (I’m the only player on GGPO :frowning: )and if there are players they’re mostly from North/South America and Asia.

How’s the netcode? On GameFAQS many people are saying that the netcode is good, but I see negative feedback on this forum and even Maximilian said it’s not very stable (I play on the PS3 though).

Is the netcode good enough to buy the game or should I just keep the GGPO version?

Being very conservative with my cash (budget’s tight), I’d say this game is very well worth it. There’s no arguing that this game should’ve been $10-15, as it has much, much less content than 3SO. But honestly, this game just rocks so much that you could easily overlook that. Try the demo first and see for yourself.

Personally, I believed and still believe that this game is a quality product. The Stand mechanics and tight combos system makes it a blast to play. SFxT would’ve been a great game, had it followed this game’s formula a bit more (and dropped target combo with dumb launcher.)

I have already played the game on an emulator and I like it, but I want to know if the netcode is good or should I just stay with the GGPO version.

I’m livid at that fact that most of the lagless matches I’ve played are from Japan.

So how is the PSN/XBL Jojo’s? Does it have any input lag or the other usual porting/emulating troubles? How does the online play run?

imma bout to be a total asshole imma run petshop on xbl lol i didnt know he was so fun to play

cant jotaro do 214+AA to the dios and other jotaros that like to spam orororo and mudamudamuda?

I keep running into fags online that love those.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude, wassup!? You back in the states or still in school over in Germany? How you been man?

EDIT: SeshaZL, yeah you can chuck the supers at their stands for muda/orah spammers. Not just that, but any attack you do to the stand will hurt jotaro/dio. It’s just difficult sometimes because of the active hitbox’s of the fists.

Ive been watching quite a bit of jojohftfsq youtube channel and it seems to me dio has the more aggressive playstyle than jotaro. If hes more suited for the rushdown than i may have to switch chars…or have I just seen lame Jotaros?

Dio is more heavily reliant on that type of play, imo. Jotaro can be played defensively or offensively, changing his style based on the matchup. I believe SQ plays one of the best Jotaros as well. He was seen in a video beating BBC, the guy who put together the core combo videos for this game.

PSN : Filthie_Rich
Area : Norcal

this is one big jojo reunion, so good to see all of you coming back with HD

@ karmoon: i’m on psn, fid_atthegates, we should play some time again!

@ sessha: i’d probably say that jotaro can be more aggressive than dio, simply because his okizeme is extremely strong and loops into itself (usually guessing wrong twice is enough to die against him). also, dio can build meter quite well with whiff s.A, and capitalize a little more on keepaway with pushblock -> knives, his s.C anti air, his eye laser etc. i play a mix of keepaway and rushdown with him, depending on the matchup and the situation. there’s a certain flow to it that will come naturally over time. on a side note, i play keepaway vs maria, as crazy as that sounds. we’ll upload some dio vs maria matches on hardedgeofficial soon that should show the matchup quite well.
