The Jojo's Bizzare Adventure Thread!

I’m kinda random. But I don’t really care too much about ranbats or anything, I just want to play for fun.

gg’s to mr. filthyrich and stafos. i need to play more, thanks for getting me more practice. those kakyoin mirrors really helped my game a lot, and it was fun playing dio mirrors as well. Next time filthy, we should get on them Polnareff mirrors

Sorry for cutting the games short, Geezer. Such bad timing. Look forward to more games with you.

great sets today guys, a lotta people came out. surprised to see some people’s progress, especially Wil. hopefully the recorded sets will be put up soon so i can evaluate some things

I wanna play in the ranbat too. I’m on EST but later in the evening on weekdays is good for me. YAY JOJO’s!

I’ve finally began grasping how the game is actually played and would like to get better. I play Mariah, Khan, and a really bad Alessi. =)

Thanks for the games, Geezer. I’m not sure I did too well except maybe my R. Soul did ok. I think I’ve stagnated a bit, skill-wise, bleh.

Don’t restrict yourself to the ranbat (ranbat is cool too), just show up sometime! I’m on the west coast, so won’t be the best ping for you, but there are several peopel closer to the middle of the country as well as a few on the east coast or close.

Oh without a doubt. I know a lot of you guys are on the WC. When do you guys usually gather in the JoJo’s room? It’s usually dead every time i wanna play. Keep the bootman informed! =D

All hours, really. Most US/CAN People probably start to show at about 7 EST or later. I don’t usually show (Except on weekends) until 7:30PST/10:30EST or later.

Just got this game two days ago. Thinking about Devo and Mariah.

Hard to copy match videos when I dont know how to do that tricky shit like stand cancelling and all that other hooplah yall talking about.

sigh

Glad to have ya aboard, lol. Have to say, your SN had me laughing pretty hard and botherin the shit outta my folks. I notice the late hours 9-11 PM PST seems to be having people in the room (the usuals). But at the sametime it’s pretty random. Pop in every now and then and just leave yourself on available, pretty sure someone will randomly challenge you when they join.

Well you can always do things the good wholesome fun way and practice/research it…or you can just ask one of us with any specific question/concern you have? I suggest the second option since it’ll save you time. Difficulty wise Devo is harder to master than Mariah, but I think tier wise, Devo is higher (someone confirm with the tier statement). Most "stand-on attack"s are done with a direction (other than neutral) and an attack button pressed with the stand button. Stand off is tricky and requires a kara cancel type input to be performed in order to do a normal move in normal mode from stand mode. But like I said, if you can post up any specific thing you are trying to know/acheive we can help you figure it out (learn something new too) along the way.

In addition to what Gamegeezer said, most of the cancelling talk in here that’s special is particular to certain character’s BnBs and combos, which is just walk/crouch canceling, which is tapping crouch or forward (for example) to shorten the recovery on a move. It’s not applicable/required for everything, just some select stuff. You can definitely start to get more than just the basics down without doing it (with most characters).

If anyone is interested in JJBA CPS3, someone from the UK is selling one on the neo-geo forums for 70 euro. Just thought I’d throw that out to anyone interested.

Lucky West Coast peeps hardly can go against Japan due to location.

thanks man, i came a long way from when i first started messing with jotaro. i don’t think i’m on the japanese level yet, still got a lot of practice and getting down my timing still. i’d rather be known for my polnareff but it seems my jotaro and kakyoin are comin a good ways.
