Well it’s confirmed me and roukyou are definitely going to be at Evo. I got a room with a friend of mine so hopefully I can steal a laptop for a setup in the hotel room. Who else is planning to go? And where ya stayin? :3
damn you to hell.good shit with playin with kak
Jealousy drive, engage!
That said, you guys better damn well record the matches (Even just input recording in FBA or whatever).
OR ELSE.
You guys can play this on Dreamcast, you know that rite?
What is this dream…cast…you speak of?
Everyone’s just got PC-compatible arcade sticks at this point. Fewer these days for Dreamcast.
I’m still in the process of modding one of my Agetecs, for one…
Well, I’m just saying because I figure it would be easier to play on the television (and record matches) than huddling around a laptop screen.
Just putting that out there.
Totally reasonable. I’m not even going ot be there, so my opinion doesn’t even matter. I just don’t know the logistics of EVO, etc. I guess the hotel rooms would probably have TVs, yeah.
I am going to try to be there, and if I can, then best believe that I will be participating in JJBA sessions.
Just trying to smooth out the travel plans at this point.
hey yall. If anyone has noticed I have not been on the ggpo scene in a while, and i probably won’t be on for another while for various reasons. If those offline sessions ever come to fruition i’m totally down as long as it’s nearby
arcade perfect version > > > > > dc version by alot.
this.
I disagree, they are the exact same thing except for input time during tandems being longer in the DreamCast version. If you just banned doing extra inputs during the tandem, then it would be the exact same thing as the arcade version. Also, the DreamCast version doesn’t have the extra glitches that the so called “arcade perfect” emulator has.
Fuckin this
they aren’t actually the exact same.
Anyone able to elaborate on the differences? I’m genuinely curious and would love to see them enumerated and documented. While the DC version was basically (Well, I saw it in an arcade. ONCE) my introduction to the game, I never played it at anything resembling a deep level - most of my time (98%) has been learning it on FBA/GGPO over the last almost-year.
Does it really matter?
I mean, if it seriously affects gameplay and what you’re used to, than yeah I understand. But if its small shit and this is one of those “arcade version just because its arcade version” arguments…you guys know better than that…
I say the main reason he chose laptop over Dreamcast would be of ease. It is easier to use laptop and setup a laptop then a Dreamcast (plus he doesn’t have to worry about the controller ports dying in a middle of a match, gd-rom stop working, and not having a save with all the characters unlocked).
well, it’s been a while since i’ve fired up the DC but…since i know that tandem input times are longer…one would assume that active stand characters have a significant advantage over their non-active stand partners. I have not tested this out or anything since i’m too lazy to fire up the dreamcast, but in theory that would make the top tiers even more higher…just sayin. That is my only real concern (aside from someone mentioning a ton of chaca damage scale/tweaks).
Either arcade or dreamcast will work just fine. Stand Tandem combos will still be prorated, right? You don’t really need to input so much in the first place IMHO.
