Just watched it on Friday night. Damn the action in this one won’t be equalled for a while. The stable scene the raid scene omg. Tbh I didn’t like chapter 2 that much but it sets up a lot of the stuff on the universe like blood markers high table bowlery etc so I guess that makes it more of a transition movie. I liked hst they showed the judo/wrestling training John underwent cause we see it throughout the movies in his fighting style. As someone who did Judo competitively I really appreciated that. Halle Berry character will definitely come back as otherwise had not a lot of weight in the movie. Dogs assist was super cool tho and did feel real. The one thing that sorta bothered me was the guy above the high table. Like they have established this universe but for the most part is like super grounded. So for someone to sit higher you’d imagine idk an Italian mob boss or a yakuza etc. But we get a vagabond in the desert?? Dafuq happened there. How is he above shit? Anyways I think Winston is just using John to bring down the high table. His betrayal is just a motivation and also thumbs up for he Matrix stuff (choice, guns, etc)

Fuck yeah on the action being just that damn good. I barely remember JW2 (though it was no slouch), but I went back and saw JW3 3 or 4 times in the theater. It might be the first movie I ever pre-ordered from Amazon. I’m hoping JW4 can top/equal it, but I doubt it.
In terms of action you really don’t have to remember jw2. It was a rehash of 1 in a weird way, but the details in it expanded the universe and added layers

I think a lot of you guys will be happy with all the extras JW3 comes with. I watched them last night. There’s about 6-8 (don’t remember) different videos that are each about 8-10 minutes long. Talking about how they approached each stunt, what inspired them to do it, how much went into each stunt…etc.
Pretty cool stuff.
Summary
Most of it boiled down to Keanu and Chad Stahelski (the Director) telling each other all these cool ideas they come up with or cool moments they’d seen in old spaghetti westerns or Asian action movies.
Then them going to everyone working on the film while acting like little kids saying “HOW CAN WE DO THIS THING I SAW OR HAD AN IDEA ABOUT BUT NOT RIP THEM OFF AND IT BE ORIGINAL AND JOHN WICK-ISH?! CAUSE THIS IDEA IS COOL AS FUUUUUCK! FUCK IT! WE’LL FIGURE IT OUT AS WE GO!”

Summary
The Raid and a Korean Action Drama called Villainous.
The video breaking down the Bike Scene mentions Villainous. Chad watched it between 2&3. It had a Motorcycle action scene that he fell in love with. He wanted to “John Wick it”. He said he wanted to pay homage to the movie with out clearly copying the scene but at the same time clearly fucking copying the scene Lol.
The Glass Room deep dive and the dog fu were probably my two favorite behind the scenes videos to watch.
Oh, and seeing how Halle bugged Chad about a part in the movie cause she loved everything about it. Everyone talking about her going in head first and being 100% committed despite some of her anxiety she had in the beginning was really nice too.
To elaborate on the latter. When they had her doing the gun fu training she would get massive anxiety attacks and actually break out in hives because of how uncomfortable and incredibly scared holding a gun, even a prop one made her feel. But she powered through it.

Speaking of which i was able to score the mini John Wick 1-2 Steelbook from gamestop. Had to get it sent from a store in Kentucky. If i didn’t snag it ASAP 4 stores were gunning for it BAD.

Gamestop had a limited Edition Mini-Steel Book for sale as well. Comes with digital copies of 1-2 on a cool Continental Card replica. I saw BB has the mini-steelbook for part 3. Might snag those come pay day.
