John Wick 2 is sitting at 89%
I guess this is the final trailer…
It’s literally just the last trailer? Like…I didn’t notice anything different from this and the last full trailer.
Ya know I’m OK with that. I don’t need some borderline whole movie trailer
I am so happy for this franchise. A movie that came out of nowhere that knew what it was and delivered on all fronts. I know it’s still personal sensibilities, but seeing that RT score got my hype levels at maximum.
Props to Halle for doing her own stunts and choreography
She’s been training with Brian Ortega a top ufc fighter
The one thing I took away from this interview is Reeves kept calling what happens in the movie “John Wick action” like he was trying to market what happens as a certain style of film or a certain style of action/choreography. Trying to really set it apart from everything else, to really make it shine and have its own identity. Which I feel is not only extremely important but extremely smart of him.
I’m super stoked.
i took away that he remembered his stunt mens names and made sure to say they did the really dangerous stuff.
Apparently there is a John wick comic. This might be old news but I got into the series way late so I never knew about it.
What I got from it:
- He understands that movie magic is a team effort
- This movie is all about John Wick action
- Feels from the response to that last question.
I mean…he’s super agnostic and respects many aspects in Buddhism but doesn’t practice it. When people ask him about his faith though he usually just says it’s something he’d rather keep to himself.
I think his answer was spot on though and as an atheist that’s pretty much how I feel.
It was a universal truth. Colbert had 0 chance of retort.
Saw John Wick today and it’s definitely the most fun I’ve had in theaters this year (much more than Endgame) and some of the most creative action scenes I’ve seen in years. The movie knows its audience and caters to us, which is sadly becoming more of a novelty nowadays where everything has to have some social commentary bullshit.
That being said, I do wish action movies would go back to traditional blood packs for certain close up action sequences instead of CGI though, because on the big screen some of the blood splatter effects look very fake. The blood just bursts suddenly and disappears a few frames later with no residual smearing or spray patterns which takes away from the realism.
Spoilers
-
The Raid Redemption Indonesian dudes are definitely come back too help John in the next movie.
-
A minor gripe but the public murder scenes where zero New Yorkers noticed random people bleeding to death was weird, but at the same time it’s New York. The victims just kind of fell out of frame. lol
-
Halle stood her own, although you could tell the stunt guys had to sell hard for her when it came to certain CQC scenes.
-
I seriously hope Winston didn’t actually plan on betraying John and this is some 3D chess shit to bring down the High Table otherwise he’s in for some serious payback.
-
Wick’s amputated ring finger is going to be a CGI’d for the remainder of the franchise which is an interesting choice. The cauterization means there’s no chance for it to come back.
All in all if you want solid action, cool characters, and a lot of spectacle you can’t go wrong here.
8.5/10
We’re two movies deep with this being in the M.O. If you aren’t there for that, then why are you even watching
Wick has a origin story comic
Nnnnnnn @ John Wick cross promoting with fortnite…
I know right!!
Who the hell signed off on that, and more importantly who even thought that up.
If there’s any current video game property for John to pop up in…MK11 or Hitman series.
Anyways the movie gets an 8/10 for me.

I came in and thought that this would be the final installment but I think can handle one more.
Also love that both of the Raid final boss villains made it in.
This movie was great and I’m definitely going to see it again this weekend. I didn’t think they could top themselves, but they did it. I didn’t think a movie could be almost 100% action start to end without giving me fatigue, but this movie managed it. I’d give it an 8/10.
