I definitely want Haggar and Thor on the same team. Mights Spark or Smash(He has the one where he goes up and crashes down, right?) would be great for getting Haggar in and help with pressure string/OTG greatness. It would be hard to pick between the two, considering Mighty Smash could OTG after a command throw, and even if you can’t combo for sure, those two moves would still be huge damage.
Haggar has great DHC potential with body smash, and I have heard his machine gun/abortion punch goes almost half screen. Putting this knowledge with how great lariat is (If pipe smash OTG or gets high bounce and Violent axe gets good invul frames, those would be great too) then Haggar is looking to be an awesome supplement to any team. Even if he isn’t point, he will put in mad amounts of work.
I also want to use Ammy. She… is a one man army really. She could go anywhere on the team. Between her Cold Star and Haggar’s AA command jumping grab and rush grab, you could potentially limit where the opponent can go, or set their asses up.
LOL, good points! I’m thinking the same with Thor, and with Chris you can really get that pressure off of you. To be honest, I’m just playing characters I like and then just finding their strengths for teams. Everyone is pretty good, or at least, able to get you into a damaging combo situation, so now its basically playing “Who goes well with Haggar and Thor”. I’ve wanted Thor since day one, when everyone just hated on the character.
Phoenix may be a great and power addition to the Haggar/Thor setup, however she is a TOTAL gamble. I’d say that Haggar’s Lariat assist would set up her more powerful techniques/combos. I guess we’ll see when I get the game.
Also, I love your PSN name, lol.
Additionally, I think someone asked what the name of Haggar’s level 3 was. If Capcom really wants to give us a throwback, that move SHOULD be named the “Super Muscle Bomber”. Just sayin, lol.
The Hyper Piledriver setup is what I had in mind when I made that post. It’s a regular command grab that cannot be comboed into.
I’m also fairly certain you can’t throw people who are stuck in trap moves. I tried DHCing Chris’ ice grenade into Thor’s command grab super, and it didn’t work.
If you cancel crawler assault before the first hit then it might. It will all depend if the opponent is still stuck in block/hit stun after the web shot. If they are stuck in either, then Haggar’s grab won’t connect.
i was thinking the same thing with she hulk you cancel the last hit of emerald cannon before it hits and cancel for a grab…and also i was thinking do the rapid punch then kfc before the last 2 hits and go for the grab. the other thing i want to know is if you can combo after the floor bounce at the end of his rapid punch super im hoping you can go for a dhc to rapid punch and then lay out the beating in an air combo.
Yeah. For a great combo, you want to try to avoid using untold amounts of meter unless it ends the opponent. I personally am going to try to limit myself to one meter per extended combo.
That’s fairly similar to my team of Taskmaster/Arthur/Haggar
What you have with that team is a balanced group, I would recommend using Dante on point since he is at least decent if not good at everything. (Not counting hardcore keep away) so you can use him to build meter and do damage.
MODOK will work because his assist (I think he has a projectile beam assist) can help Haggar get in, and you can use him if your opponent has a keep away character and you need to switch out Dante to heal or something.
Haggar’s assist will help MODOK if you’re using his Lariat because it’s a great “get off me move” to help MODOK keep off the pressure.
Sorry I can’t give too much info, I still don’t have the game, but basically I see it working, though it might not be the best.
