You should’ve put the text somewhere else, like on the left side of the image or have it centered somewhere
I wanted it to block he head a bit to make it seem a bit more inappropriate.
Pretty good, coulda been better if you coulda got it on the frame his fist is actually in her gut though.
I’m working on making it a gif.
Its just the frame he had hit her in the stomach had a big fat COMBOOO covering haggar
Shit like this is why your my favorite poster ever. Amazing pic is amazing
Thanks to the recent videos I know NOT to do Splash super against characters with counter supers.
At least not ‘blindly’ or just throwing it out on random like the vid showed
I was thinking that since Weskers counter super was confirmed to counter the world.
So, does Haggar’s Piledriver range less than Thor’s command grab or will it change by the time of release?
it’s up in the air at this point
Hey guys, I posted a Haggar character analysis on my blog for anyone that’s interested - MVC3 Character Analysis: Mike Haggar | I Speak Comics. It goes over his normals, specials, and hypers. In response to this -
Check out the Haggar gameplay vid (Video 2 in the blog) at :48. Haggar grabs a crouching Chun from pretty dang decent range. Win.
Thank u Mr. Ranger sir.
Hey, nice writeup man, it’s good to have something to read about the mayor.
A couple things I want to throw out there though, just my opinions.
First off, I’m guessing that the pipe is a special, not a normal. The fact that you can use it the same in both the air and on the ground kind of says that imo. Also, all of his air normals are already accounted for (dropkick, chest bump, headbutt, double fisted knockdown), so unless it’s a command normal, which would probably have to have different commands on the air and in the ground, my guess is special.
Secondly I do believe the running grabs are an actual grab. Over at unity, Seth replied to a question about the piledriver in which he didn’t explicitly state, but basically said that it’s a grab. He says at range, you get to use it instead of the piledriver, and also that people might “hold up to escape with a jump”, which is how you escape grabs, and a good way to get yourself hit if it really is just a physical strike. Lastly, if it was a hit, it wouldn’t necessarily need an anti-air version. Grabs can only hit grounded opponents, so you need an AA grab to mix it up, same as she-hulk and super skrull. A running grab like that isn’t any more powerful than a really fast trijump into a combo, and I think capcom has given these combo-starting running grabs to a couple characters (haggar and she-hulk) with that in mind.
What does everybody else think?
In response to your first comment, the pipe smash, my first thought was that it was a command normal. Something like instead of down + exchange = launcher, it would be toward + exchange = pipe smash. It very well could be a special attack and I definitely see where you’re coming from but I was looking at it from pure aesthetics. It just didn’t look very… special? Regardless, good point.
Second, I really hope the running grabs are unblockable. Haggar would be that much more terrifying. Again, I see where you’re coming from and I think Seth actually dished out some pretty decent info in his own not so helpful way :). However, if it is unblockable and unless it has super armor, you still won’t want to be throwing it out all on its own. Hiding it behind projectile assists and inside block strings will be how it’s successfully utilized in my mind thanks to the slight but obvious start up. Do we think it’s delayable? But by jimminy I’m liking the way The Mayor’s turning out. So pumped to start experimenting, especially with setups getting two hits from his body slam hyper. SO PUMPED!
Haggar is cool, might pick him up
I don’t why it wouldn’t be unblockable. Every character that has a command throw it’s unblockable. She-Hulk has a running grab and that’s unblockable too.
For some reason I think that was just too awesome to consider. Also, there is a slight history of command grabs being blockable in MVC2. Hulk and Colossus for example.
Capcom is doing right with them now. Hulk’s Gamma throw is unblockable now. Unlike MvC2, the system made accommodations to make command throws useful. Having them as combo starters, being useable in combos and making them unblockable. Hopefully now grapplers won’t rot on the bottom tiers
