The Jean Reno Connection: The Truth behind Abel, and Charlie

Actually, that’s exactly the reason.

Oh, shit

Really?
I’m gonna take time some day to read up on KOF storyline. I actually enjoy fighting game story if it’s told in giant summary guides. It’s like awesome soap operas.

Where does Remy fit into all this? If Charlie IS Abel, and Abel is French, then rather than being Alex’s trainer, maybe he is Remy’s father, explaining how he inheriteed the flash kicks and sonic booms (I assume they are genetic).

Or something.

Dictator never dies. He’s reborn!

In one of those interviews, the SF team just said Jean Reno is popular in Japan and they also used him in Onimusha. I dont think he’s Charlie or any of this crazy conspiracy stuff.

That’s ridiculous. Everybody knows that Abel is this guy.

You’re also thinking of the wrong company. SNK: Grow and change. at that. More like “grow old and senile and die.”

They should use Gary Oldman. Stansfield was so top tier.

We’re talking character development and moveset expansions/overhauls, not bad company policies. Do try to keep up.

Quite an enjoyable thread  the thing is, at first I thought Abel might be Charlie, but the height thing and lack of recognition from Guile totally kills it (unless Bison hulked him up with some psycho wheaties to play on the Shadowlaw baseball team), though the stuff about Abel eventually “becoming” Tom is interesting, but one all his scars are missing on Tom, and even if he died his hair, he still has dark eyes and nose is differently shaped.

Well there might have been some crazy shit done to him while he was "dead"
I actually can accept this theory, it would make sense how remy gets tied into everything as well.

exactly. also juni and juli are morgan web, just split in two so that neither is worth playing. toss away characters FTW in A3!

I could see Remy tieing into this somehow then again i can also see Ash Crimson crossing continuities and bitch slapping them all while laughing and shouting “I am the worlds greatest flash kicker!!”

WOW great job Sherlock!!

where is that “pre-alpha” pic from??

Capcom sure loves Reno lol

this old (OLD) ass anime called Street Fighter II V. it had ryu and ken go around the world looking for the world’s best street fighters to learn other martial arts.

oh and akuma shows in almost every episode in the background chillin and relaxin

I am convinced: Street Fighter needs a Jean Reno look-alike. SSF4 new character: Jean. Motherfucking Jean.

Wrong company again, especially recently.

Everybody knows Charlie got psycho crushed into a different dimension and is now chilling with the x-men. Ryu tried to save him but Apocalypse smacked him back into the SF universe. Then bison took some of the blood from Charlie that he got on his hat when he psycho crushed him and used it to make Seth.

Perfectly sensible.

On a more serious note, I kinda hate he idea of killing 2D fighter characters. The gameplay for any one character is so unique that destroying the moveset just to remake it or shift the moves around a couple of different characters doesn’t really seem worth it.

Like I said, they could just kill them but keep them playable as "bonus"es outside story mode.

Heh, guess they could do it like they did in Fatal Fury (final bout 1, don’t quote on this, would have to crack on the ps2 to find). they kept Geese around even though he was dead with a couple of little angels around the portrait as signifier of it. Still its kinda weird seeing the regular characters fight one that is technically dead. The fact that Gen eventually is going to die does not bother me on the storyline front but it is a mess and a half because he is such an interesting character with his moveset.
