In the UDON “Super Street Fighter” series, Alex works with Guile to find Tom. While Tom probably isn’t gone, using him as a link between Alex and Guile is a pretty smart idea. If Alex is dragged into SFV through Guile, he’ll tie into the plot nicely. Also, if Gill bodies Tom at some point, we get a set up for New Generation.
I maintain that the order goes from left to right in the DLC reveal image: Alex, Guile, Balrog, Ibuki, Juri, Urien. Way back when Matt said “it was an oversight to not include 3S characters at launch”, Alex was probably really close to making the initial roster but left out for organization purposes. It makes sense that Alex will be the 1st DLC character. Guile, Balrog, and Ibuki also are involved with the main issue (Guile/Balrog have their affiliations, Ibuki is probably hired by Karin) regarding Shadowloo. Juri and Urien are probably working behind the scenes setting up something big, likely together to topple Bison. Even if you use Daemos’ “Juri doesn’t care about Bison anymore” theory, it still makes sense because she’s playing Shadowloo and the Illuminati against each other like she did with SIN in SF4.
Someone here speculated that if part of Birdie’s SFA3 ending is canon (him getting trapped and almost dying in the PsychoDrive) that maybe it affected him, drove him into a depression and he started eating to compensate?
The thing is his Shadaloo outfit is shown not to fit, so it looks like he started putting on weight while in Bison’s employ. Karin giving him a sweet gig may play a part in him keeping the weight on despite all the fighting, but who knows. With the way everything’s going, I don’t think they’re just gonna make a throwaway story for the two. Karin may have utilized Birdie due to his previous Shadaloo connections.
There was contention between the Kanzuki family and Shadaloo in A3, so who knows where this could lead.
Maybe she just felt straight up bad for Birdie. Or Birdie is using Karin by lying about how much knows about shadalooand in exchange they keep the cops off him and provide him shelter/food.
I dunno much about Karins past or personality to theorize on her end though.
I figured that Birdie’s Shadaloo outfit has him infiltrate Shadowloo at some point. Being a former member would be knowledgeable of it’s inner working.
Based on the story costumes we’ve seen:
-Ryu: Explain the story for SF4, possibly Alpha and even SF1
-Chun: Definitely Alpha flashbacks, maybe some more info on her father
-Nash: How he died and came back
-Bison: Details of what happened in Alpha 3 and/or SF4
-Cammy: Missions with Delta Red
-Birdie: How he left Shadowloo and joined Karin
-Ken: Recaps the family part of his story, may cover Alpha
-Necalli: How Necalli entered/exited his slumber
-Vega: What he does outside of Shadowloo
-Mika: Zangief team-up!
-Rashid: Maybe some pre-adventure shenanigans?
-Karin: How Karin gets involved in SFV, probably involves a dress party/ceremony at some point
-Zangief: Mika team-up!
-Laura: Some casual Laura action
-Dhalsim: Not very different from his regular outfit, but the “shirt” indicates something not fighting-related
-FANG: ??? (VERY likely his blue robes, so we see more of what he does for/with Shadowloo)
Isn’t Alex supposed to be the spiritual successor to Ryu? I want to see the start of this journey without the motive of vengeance he takes upon in SF3.
Btw one very small detail thats easy to overlook about the trailer is that Ryu is in Sims stage. Probably doesn’t mean much buy the stage is called apprentice alley afterall.
Yes and this is Capcom’s chance to rectify that. Elevating more characters to “potential main” status is a boon for a series. New blood can be a major shot in the arm.
You’ve criticized not just the artwork, but the story mode in general. On numerous occasions. I honestly don’t know why do you even come here at other than spout some random fanfic bullshit or to troll
Hmm, pretty well thought out post. Doesn’t he also form a relationship of sorts with Ryu, though? Though I guess that would lower his chances of having any significant role as he wouldn’t be able to have interactions with him. Unless they pull some memory-wiping/amnesia shenanigans.
