With Urien arriving as DLC later on, the story in SFV will continue and connect the events with SFIII
This is really an original way to narrate a fg story.
I just keep crossing my fingers for Gill, that would be sooo amazing, gives us a remix of his final boss theme too. Even if he’s not a final boss, at least make him the second to last boss, mid point boss, or a boss you fight after scoring high enough on the Arcade score. Actually, scratch that, just make him apart of the story, forget arcade mode, what am I saying.
If, and that is a big if, we get Gill as a playable character it will be towards the end of the game’s lifecycle. Gill be will a recycled Urien by then, since resources won’t be as available. At worst, you may end up with a PC mod of Urien turning him into Gill or something.
We already have Urien, and Necalli who will cover the whole naked all powerful demigod character with big hair. So really doubt Gill will make an appearance outside of possibly a cameo in the story somewhere.
For real though, I want to see Ingrid back because I like her design. Her character needs heavy overhauling. Dump all the goddness and founder of psycho power bullshit.
You know I actually wouldn’t mind that. It would be worth it to see the salty tears of her fans…hmmm. Nope she’d still be 5’ 90lbs. I rescind my support of this statement. Not enough salt would be produced for it be worth it.
I prefer Ingrid remain as a Capcom’s ‘Deus Ex Machina’ character for the Capcom multiverse but away from tampering with the SF canon. This is what she has become (especially after SFxT) and I doubt Capcom will remake her into a more serious or grounded character. So we are left with either having her as a character or not. Personally, I don’t think she is necessary, or that unique of a design, or that big of a loss if she were to never appear in a mainline SF game again. Keep her for crossovers, or as the mythic SF character she has become.
Whatever the case though, they need to drop the psycho power bullshit. It utterly diminishes the narrative IMO.
If I were to redesign her background, I would make her into a gifted golden child of the Illuminati, perhaps even the youngest of sibling of Gill/Urien, and she would be a heroic character trying to veer away her society from the dark path its leaders are taking. No goddess, and no Psycho Power. She can keep the sunlight though.
Being Capcom’s Deus Ex Machina has limited range. She will be regulated to only appearing in crossover games like Project X Zone and other media adaptions of said crossover (as was the case with SFxT). If Ingrid is gonna remain a character tied to Street Fighter I want the character overhauled to fit the context of the series. The way she is now is out of place for the series.
We’re not disagreeing on this. I’m only saying that Capcom is unlikely to overhaul her backstory to make her fit into the series, and that given this unlikelihood I would rather she never make an appearance than risk having her poisoning the canon further.
They need to do the opposite of what Xrd just did with their new character and have it be Ingrid is actually a really old lady that has survived centuries who controls a “puppet”, the schoolgirl we know and hate. Then I can have my puppet character! And people can get their old woman character! And people still get Ingrid! We’re all happy!
Ingrid’s definitely one of the worst characters in the series, bottom two or three definitely. I really hope Capcom doesn’t bring her back, but I’m worried that Japan’s love for her (Which I think is based entirely on the fact that she’s cute) will push her into V, even if she isn’t canon to the story.
This is all old news about Necalli but damn that smaller art to the left looks sexy. Really glad I got the collector’s edition. Sweet Ryu statue, Artbook and Hot Ryu alt, we in there.
