It’s clear the artist is doing whatever he wants. From the description, that’s the brainwashed Ken from the Animated Movie, who indeed regained his normal self by watching Ryu’s bandana.
Because E.Ryu is canon more or less. Ken didn’t have a run in with Bison to be brainwashed, and Ryu was always crossing the line between SnH and his normal self before he mastered it.
See I don’t agree with that. Maybe she wasn’t eligible to be in the running of President or Emperor, but maybe she’s from a high caste family. We know that the higher ranked members get powers from the 66 scared arts, but what if loyal devotees are empowered with something lesser but still amazing. They’re all about eugenics and authority to rule over lesser people, so while there are differences in power, I can’t see them being totally fine with normies being vital components and not just foot soldiers or lowly scientists.
This is the first time we know anything about Kolin and even then it’s not much. I don’t think we can just write her off. Like others said, Juri sensed something in her, she may have pulled a Batman, but NashyChuck couldn’t find her at all and still heard the echo of her voice. I still feel like the Bison illusion was her doing. We’ve never seen Gill demonstrate abilities that deal with illusions or projects. He could very well do that, but Kolin was his nurse and in charge of him, so having her handle and observe his fighting prowess against a Bison clone isn’t too far fetched for me. Also, the way the camera did the close up on her clapping and stopping was done distinctly a few times if I recall correctly. She did it after the image dissipated, she did it again during the Russian HQ scene before she was going to explain her self/ pre-Urien fight.
I mentioned it a while back a few times, but I don’t think the primary idea behind that scene was saying “Look it’s Kolin guys!” the name drop and tie to SF3 was secondary, but with all the religious saviour stuff in the Illuminati and Gill aesthetic, it, to me, read as more of a religious thing. She’s trembling in fear and sorrow for the prophecy not coming together as she had hoped, Gill calms her down, she then gets so excited at something impending that she can’t finish her sentence and then that change happens. It’s like how when she got angry at Charlie she was upset like this failure would deny her something – power, salvation, enlightenment.
He doesn’t just say “arise Kolin”, he says “COME AND FOLLOW ME Kolin” like in the bible
I also don’t think she’s just a secretary; her and Gill seem rather close. I can’t remember if it was fan art or obscure official art, but in a piece I saw ages ago, their body language made it look like there was a romantic connection between the two. I could be wrong, but I just feel there’s more to her than we’ve seen. Not biased because I really enjoy her character, but it just feels like she’s more than a normal woman walking around. I feel like Juri may have seen another side to her, thus sparking her interest and sticking around. Yes, she’s connected to a mysterious organization that will let Juri play, but that bloodlust look she had and even her tone on when she wanted to fight Kolin was telling.
It wasn’t just a random “Wow, Rashid didn’t satisfy me, I’ll take ANYONE other than that rookie! Even you” she at first was eyeing Azam and Charlie. It wasn’t, in my opinion implying that Kolin was stronger, but rather she’d offer a challenge, but a different type of challenge to her.
Violent Ken:… RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGH!!! I thought we were done with this alt-form shoto garbage! Thankfully they’re stating pretty hard that it’s not canon. I wonder what other alt forms and alt settings they’ll put up? Also is this a hint at some potential daily challenge battle? Alt Ken as a special challenge? Hmm…
I think story mode had some good parts but if we ever get a street fighter 6 I’d like to see a wholesale change with the creators especially Ono stepping down. I’d like a slightly more grown up feel moving to a more western approach to the story. A game with the feel of the animated movie with a touch of humour
Yeah, but that entry, with the giant hole in the chest, is clearly not representing that Ryu. It’s representing a Ryu fully succumbed to the SnH that has never actually existed in SF lore.
that is exactly what I was saying playing story mode!!! Rose and Sagat they have a coherent purpose and place in the story; Gouken I’m sorry but it should be and stay dead; he contribute with anything to the story, for that we have Oro who is the next level of mastery. Rose should have helped train Ryu’s mind and spirit; he then overcome the SNH; I know many people will disagree with me, but Evil Ryu in this game WAS necesary (he wasn’t in 4th at all), a fight between these two Ryu’s and the end once and for all of Evil Ryu IN cannon, that way you have the fight in the future between him and Akuma. Sagat would have been a great help because he would know where the base was (everyone and their mother know where shadaloo base was that was SO STUPID!!!) the base inside, access, codes and have some idea of Bison´s plans. this Story writes itself!!! so many fanservice with useless characters.
Who’s next Oni? so interesting they put efforts on the parallel endings as being considered. atleast it isn’t shadaloo’s post man. I hope they put shadaloo’s and secret society’s scientist then their experiments…
What do people want to see in a street fighter 6 story? If like a brand new boss,a tournament setting and characters to of aged 4 or 5 years especially apparent with the teenage characters. Cough sakura
For Ryu to take on Sagat’s SF1 role. He holds a tournament(that Ken pays for) for no other reason than to test himself and all the other fighters of the world against all the progress he’s made.
Obviously, other stuff is going to be taking place behind the scenes, but none of it will be the focus, or the point of the game.
