Ryu better be getting that Tai Chi pussy if he barks on command like that to Chun-Li. She even orders him like a dog, âRyu, get him!â
Iâve been crying for Alex to get his time as top babyface since SF3 but now I want them to get to Eddieâs reign already. Dude legit has a chance to be the new face of SF, at least story wise. Blue-chipper in the making.
SoâŚyou think this organization, that intends to take over the entire world, presumably with the aid of their 33 secret arts, only taught these arts to the two people who were potentially going to be in charge. NOBODY else in this entire organization is going to have any powers at all? Theyâre all just regular schmucks except for those two guys?
This was another part of the stupidity of the presentation in the story mode. Fucking NO ONE but us in this thread give a fuck about Kolin or even know who she is. SFIII had a total casual audience of like 12 people and maybe 1 of them remembers Kolin.
So stupid.
Capcom acting like they just pulled a âI am your father!â moment with Kolin when it leaves every casual viewing it confused because they NEVER explain shit in their games adequately. I swear, this shit is basic-storytelling that Capcom is just utterly failing at. They present stuff like the Comic Book Guy hearing someone say âYeah I like the Marvel moviesâ before delving into an entire diatribe on cryptical Marvel lore from the Silver Age as if the other person is going to have ANY idea what the fuck theyâre talking about.
The scene where the butterfly appears during Ryuâs fight with Necalli contradicts this to some extent. Mainly because this entire sequence of events have nothing to do with the Secret Society. Gill also appeared to have no clue about Ryu later on in the story.
This supports the idea that the butterfly is purely symbolic, possibly a representation of change/metamorphosis.
Oh and for the record, I doubt Kolin has any credible abilities beyond a knowledge of Illuminati technology. Her value as an agent/spy/manipulator and her CLEAR devotion make her thoroughly useful to the highest levels of the society (like Gill) without any fighting abilities or the like.
In fact, weâve never seen ANYONE but the candidates (Gill & Urien) and the weapons (Q/Twelve) of the Illuminati to possess combat ability. When you can produce motherfuckers like Gill & Urien or mass-produce Twelves, teaching tai-chi to secretaries seems super unnecessary.
I donât think this. This is what we know about the Society from the 90s. Of all the known Illuminati members, only those who went through the trials demonstrated any kind of fighting prowess or propensity for special powers. If Capcom decides to retcon this, then this is a whole other matter, but so far they didnât.
I think having a VERY small amount of people (likeâŚonly a few) capable of superior techniques is also in keeping with the whole messianic/religious vibe of the Illuminati. Why the hell would they want lesser people to have any kind of powers? Beyond that, the ENTIRE modus operandi of the Society is to work from the shadows to amass power. Training Gill/Urien seems almost more like a religious formality to fulfill their religious dogma more than any kind of a means to an end. Gill isnât going to wipe out an armyâŚand that isnât the Societyâs style anyway.
Hell, Urienâs entire character is predicated on the fact that he IS a war-monger and is sick of the society skulking around. He thinks their methods are outdated, stupid and useless and WANTS to form an army of super-powerful minions (the G-project) to conquer with. If the Society already had trained people like that, what would the G-project even accomplish?
Jesus didnât need his followers to have powers. They just needed to believe in his. Gill (and therefore the Illuminati since Gill is a traditionalist) is the same.
Alexander the Great DID need capable warriors as followers. Urien wants the same.
Yeah Iâm thinking that Helen was just an illusion since her clothes change when the âglass shattersâ so to speak. I wonder if Azam, Helen/Kolin and Shibizaki (sp) are actually being considered as possible extra characters for upcoming seasons.
Yo when Urien said, âNot another word!â and cocked his hand back I thought he was going to pimp-slap the shit out of her. That would have been shocking to see in a Capcom game. For me anyway.
For some reason, Ken doesnât have âSatsui no HadĹâ.
But he did become a Shadalooâs puppet due to the influx of Lord Bisonâs Psycho Power.
(in a parallel setting)
Name: Ken
Height: 175cm

Blood type: B

Favorite things: Bloody Battles
Dislikes: Boredom
A Ken envious of Ryu and of his closeness to the true essence of a fighter.
This became his main weakness, that we took advantage of.
Lord Bisonâs Psycho Power resonates with fear and distress,
and itâs simple to manipulate them.
The flames heâs clad in become purple,
and his attacks full of hatred.
However, seeing the red bandana of his eternal rival Ryu
he regained his true self.
A heart that thinks of others, thatâs Kenâs strength.
