The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

…I…

WHAT?!

Captain commando is in the building…?

I dont think its canon. Its more a joke made by Kiwi since its not even a sf game but more a random game that use the SF name to gain more popularity

**Ok, recently, I’ve been having a discussion with someone about this over at Gamefaqs about the new canon. He seems to disagree with me about my conclusions. In the C. Viper Aftermath trailer, it seems that Sagat was still with Shadaloo in SF II. I think it was stated that Sagat defected from Shadaloo in SFA3, in addition to developing a newfound respect for Ryu, when Bison used Psycho Power to control Ryu’s mind.

But in the C. Viper Aftermath trailer, Viper says there’s no proof that Bison and the other bosses died. Then we see Balrog, Vega, Sagat, and Bison afterwards. When Shadaloo, through S.I.N., tries to recruit Sagat again, he refuses to join Shadaloo again, saying “I don’t care about people who grasp power at any cost, to the point to even switch bodies. Or are you telling me you understand this twinge, this intense pain on my chest (referring to his scar)?!”. What I feel Sagat is trying to say is that his involvement with Shadaloo, aiding in Bison’s pursuit of power, eventually led to Ryu scarring Sagat with a Shoryuken. This would imply Sagat was with Shadaloo until Bison killed himself. So it’s possible that Ryu/Sagat’s SFA3 storyline no longer happened.

The Chun-Li Aftermath trailer shows her having flashbacks of when she was fighting at the time of the SF2 tournament. In one of the flashbacks, Ryu is shown hitting Sagat with a Shoryuken. It’s likely this is when Sagat received his scar, not during SF1. This leads me to believe that SF1 never happened.

So, here’s what I think happened in the new canon:

  1. Sagat joins Shadaloo for unknown reasons.
  2. Around the time of SF2, Sagat receives a scar on his chest from his first battle with Ryu.
  3. After Bison’s suicidal explosion, Sagat defects from Shadaloo.

What are your thoughts on this?**

The world of the future!..That occurred 6 years ago in the past

Incorrect on a few things.

SFA3 and SFII are merged in many ways at this point. That is why things are a bit wonky.

The scar from Sagat is from pre-SFA1…not anywhere near SFII/SFA3.

Sagat leaving Shadaloo is not well known fact. That is why Viper doesn’t know Sagat is no longer a lord of Shadaloo. He left during SFA3/SFII. It is very possible this included up to Bison’s suicide.

Your 1 and 2 are messed up.

Sagat joined Shadaloo BECAUSE of the scar he received from Ryu and the burning desire for revenge it created in him.

Same here. She’s the doll I want to see become playable the most.

The bloody madmen! They did it! They did it!

I argued that Captain Commando is the future of SF canon in the last thread. I still stand by it.

ROG!!! JURI!!! MUTTONCHOPS HUSBANDOO!!!

THAT FOOTAGE MAN…THAT FOOTAGE!

Those few seconds of Aegis Reflector were…

I can’t wait for Urien.

**In the C. Viper Aftermath trailer when Sagat says “I don’t care about people who grasp power at any cost, to the point to even switch bodies. Or are you telling me that you understand this twinge, this intense pain on my chest?!”, what do you think he means?

To me, it sounds like he’s pretty much saying that his role in Shadaloo helping Bison pursue power eventually resulted in Ryu leaving a scar on Sagat’s chest. What do you think Sagat means when he says this?**

I was hype watching the Balrog trailer (that SF2 stage remake tho). I saw Juri, I almost screamed. Urien appeared and I started punching the air… Holy shit, I can’t believe I went so hype on those few seconds of showcase.

Shadaloo owns the casino.

I’m glad Gigaton Punch is back instead of Violent/Crazy Buffalo. That was always my fav Balrog super.

You’re misinterpreting what he means and you’re getting events confused. Ryu scarred Sagat which in turn motivated Sagat to join Shadaloo in order to make it easier to get his revenge. He leaves Shadaloo after SFA2 after he see’s that Bison is basically using him.

When the Shadaloo agent approaches Sagat in the C. Viper trailer it’s on the terms that Sagat might want to rejoin, but Sagat has no intentions in doing that. Thus he tells him he doesn’t want to be on the side that grasps power at all costs, because he’s already been down that road and his scar is proof of that. Thus in order for you to understand why he won’t join, you have to understand the journey he had taken with his scar.

Bison goes even further than what Sagat would go for in order to grasp power, and that’s something he not only despises but also witnessed inside himself when he joined with Shadaloo on his mission for revenge against Ryu for the scar. So Sagat’s now a changed man and wants no part of Shadaloo and grasping power at all costs.

Called it! Don Savauge is the dude in center wearing the yellow top hat that’s been there since the old days!

Okay, I hate the be that guy, but…anybody else notice that they censored Juri’s outfit?

She’s got a skin tight catsuit over her boobs now in that trailer. I mean, it’s still a skin tight catsuit, but you know, I’m just making an observation.

Nope thats just the premium costume fella. Youll need $$$$ for the tttts

Edit: juri looking really pretty in that trailer. Didnt really like the way she looked in sf4 but looks real nice here.

Eh, I don’t think it’s a case of censoring, maybe they just wanted to go in another direction? Either way Murderous Korean-Waifu-Boobs are on display, clad in MurderSpandex, so not complaining.

I LOVE Blarog’s stage revival. Seeing these stages vs SF4’s is like night and day. So many except for a tiny handful, felt like they were just random locations, but oh man, I’m home. I’m so HOME!
