Apparently the june update is next wednesdays. My guess is that there is going to be a special showcase during Capcom Pro Talk with Mike Ross, Floe and Combofiend. Still I might be wrong on that.
Itâs irrelevant what she looks like, the point is that they had a completely legit theme with the code names, and now one bad apple throws it off.
You have characters like this who are supposed to be from Mozambique.
Lita doesnât look like sheâd typically be born in Africa, but thatâs what they chose as her home country. Iâm not gonna argue because she never had an established background.
Santamu being Vietnamese was the only established background she had. Be it a mistake or not, the theme had already been set so why change now? It seems like something to save for a fun fact on Twitter than actually establishing it as canon.
Itâs definitely going to be Noembelu even though it should be November, and Decapre will stay the same even though itâs dekĂĄbrĘš.
Sheâs a monster with nunchakus.
Her battle suit is slightly arranged, with a design like that of a Chinese dress with a blue line.
Name: JiÇ Yuè
Height: 165cm
Weight: 53kg
Blood type: A
Birthday: September 10
Home Country: China
Favorite things: Spicy Food, Steamed Dumplings, Kung-fu movies
Dislikes: Those who badmouth others
They say she attacks her enemy with a Chinese opera makeup.
But weâre going to reveal her true face!
Sheâs gentle with friends, but ruthless with enemies.
Normally calm and collected, sheâll do anything for her friends when needed.
To overcome an enemy, she wonât hesitate to resort to surprise and sneak attacks.
She is extremely friendly with Yång Yuè. They are twin sisters.
Honestly Litaâs country of origin never bothered me. Mozambique is a former Portuguese colony. There are blonde Brazilians of Portuguese descent. I donât see why the same canât be true for Lita.
It doesnât bother me either, and neither does Santamu be Vietnamese and being dark skinned with curly hair wielding a spear, the only aspects about her that @DarthEnder would probably consider the âNon- Vietnameseâ about her.
The thing about it is a majority from Mozambique are not blonde haired blue eyed, on the flipside, a majority of Vietnamese people are not as dark as Santamu is. So what though, because there are people in both countries who break the mold on what is viewed as typical.
Now that Santamuâs Ethiopian it all makes sense to everyone because Capcom deals in obvious stereotypes (which is true to a very extent), and having a person of African descent wielding a spear with face paint and a monkey on her shoulders is pretty much as obvious as one as you get.
Having her Vietnamese would bring out more diversity. Because like you mentioned there are light skinned people of Spanish descent in Mozambique, likewise there are darker Vietnamese and Asian people. Also, the spear is a worldwide tool used cross cultures. The only thing that wouldnât make sense is her pet monkey which is neither of Asian or African descent.
With the way itâs worded along with the exclamation point, I find it hard to believe this will be a negative announcement. Thatâs just how I see it.
