The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

Healing super belongs to Aprile, not to Elena.

Aprile would be dope if:
-She got poison versions of Cammy/Decapre’s moves (VENOM Stinger anyone?)
-She had an unblockable syringe attack (seriously, how do you block a damn needle?)
-She had a stimpack/roid rage V Trigger (FUCK YESS)

I remember when the early leak lists had a Shadaloo Scientist of some sort that fought with syringes. When you think about it, Aprile really would be perfect for a fighting style like that. I can picture that gameplay being annoying as fuck, too. Make it happen, Capcom.

excella gione?

I totally forgot about her. She’s in RE5 Mercenaries, right? I never played much Mercenaries, but I’m guessing she used a syringe.

It’s so awesome that Capcom could keep it all in the family despite the difference in the 2 universes.

Aye, she was in RE5. Speaking of RE5 I hear it’s coming out on the PS4.

Dear lord…my wife loves the Dolls…this Aprile design is going to make her EXPLODE into multi-colored confetti

Good job, Capcom. Dolls look great thus far.

Yeah, I heard about that. I haven’t played it for yrs now. I know a lot of people talked shit about it, but I personally loved the game.

They said the same thing about RE4. I loved RE5, played through it with a buddy before. Lots of fun. Would do it again. <3 sheva. My fav RE character.

Same here. People hated Sheva, but she’s cute, has a lovely accent, helps you whenever you’re getting your ass kicked, and does a Flash Kick. How could you hate her?

Now the Chris AI just sucks. I remember when he’d avoid helping me during boss battles even though I’d give him more than enough ammunition to fight with. He just tried to hide the entire time. Totally useless.

I loved the AI in RE5…but then in RE6 it went to hell for whatever reason. My AI buddy always helped me out. I loved it. Many people complained theirs was “crap” but mine…so good. Loved it.

Did you know elena’s english VA is sheva’s aswell?

I did not know that. Good stuff.

She seems to take inspiration from Valentine in Skullgirls

I was about to mention that. The eyepatch makes it really blatant. If Ibuki can throw Kunai, homegirl Aprile should get to throw syringes.

For SilverEyedJackal’s sake, I hope T.Hawk is mentioned in Juli’s bio. Poor guy is going to have an aneurysm otherwise lol.

For everyone else:

Spoiler

Given the half-assedness of T.Hawk’s bio, I will not be surprised if his quest is retconned to finding Noembelu. He might not even be mentioned there, effectively making him as relevant as Ingrid.

Sorry to triple post, but I figured I should highlight the Doll’s order to predict who’s coming when:
-Enero = January
-Fervier = February
-Marz = March
-Aprile = April
-Satsuki = May (Japanese ninja)
-Juni = June
-Juli = July
-Santamu = August (spear girl)
-Xianyu = September (nunchucks)
-Jianyu = October (staff)
-Noembelu = November (axes)
-Decapre = December

Oooh, I love this design! Aprile is a nice addition.

Just random thoughts as I’m sleep deprived and going insane lol, but I love that you and your wife can share a love of SF, that’s a special thing man!

@“Lord Vega”

Charlie saving Abel prior to his “death” definitely happened last we checked with Abel, and his Alpha 3 ending has beyond all doubts been retconned. I still don’t know why he looks the way he does. It appears from what little we know that he has definitely been enhanced, so the grafts/implants may have something to do with it. Perhaps Charlie was an early experiment for the SS’s G Project, earlier than even Necro.

Charlie would’ve been missing for at most 5-6 years by the time of SF5. The Illuminati would’ve likely recovered his body very soon after he fell down the waterfall. Was he dead but in stasis? Was he alive but in stasis?

I also agree with your assessment of the timeline, it’s pretty much what I surmised. The events of SF5 definitely don’t take place at the same time (I’m putting together a timeline of all events once all the S1 stories are out). Rashid’s prologue for example definitely takes place very soon after SF4, while Ken’s for example takes place very close to the “present” time of SF5 (The cinematic story). Your guesstimate based on Mel’s age is accurate I think.

The whole Li-Fen thing is a bit confusing. The girl herself seems to be confused about her status (being kidnapped and in need of rescuing). I’ll wait this one out till we know how she ended up at Shadaloo when she was with Chun in her prologue (which takes place in the “present” or near-past). There was definitely a retcon here I think, but how big is yet to be seen.

I do think Li-Fen will end up with Urien by the end of SF5 too. I’ve guesstimated that 3S will likely take place about 2 to 2.5 years after the end of SF5. So Li-Fen will probably be heavily traumatized by such a long ordeal. Unless 3S’s position in the timeline is moved back.

Last I checked on the Illuminati is that they are called ‘Secret Society’ by several official and officially affiliated sources. However, as a ‘secret society’ that has endured for about 2000 years, they have been called many times through out their history and one of which is alleged to be the Illuminati. I think what happened was that Capcom backtracked from the Illuminati name sometime after the release of NG, because I distinctly remember them being introduced as the Illuminati in the 90s. Although I don’t think they are referred to as such within any of the games.

The Street Fighter plot guide will need to be updated. There is important information that needs to be in there.

For example, in the new canon, it is apparent that Rose killed Bison’s original body (and Bison possessed Rose after that). Also important is the fact that nobody won the SF II tournament. There were most definitely several people still participating in the tournament at the time when Guile, Chun-Li, Cammy, Ryu, Ken (who were all participants in the tournament), and the military launched a surprise attack against Bison, Sagat, Vega, Balrog, and Shadaloo’s soldiers, which interrupted the tournament. Since the tournament never had a chance to conclude, there wasn’t a winner.

The Plot Guide has allowed itself to languish into obsolescence by its refusal to adapt to the changing times. It won’t be up to date any time soon.

But you’re right about the changes in the new canon.
