‘A Shadow Falls’ likely has a double, triple, maybe even quadruple meaning. Like:
Those black moons eclipsing the sun, causing a shadow to fall onto the Earth.
The EMP WMD causing all electrical circuits to malfunction and thereby causing black outs all over the Earth. Again, a shadow falling onto the people.
It could also be a reference to Shadaloo casting its shadow (aka evil)
It doesn’t necessarily only mean the literal “shadow” aka Shadaloo falling (as in defeat) which is what most seem to be understanding it as.
This is all besides the point though. If all 6 DLC characters are playable, then I don’t see Urien revealing himself (as playable and in the story) until after the Illuminati’s plan comes to fruition. This is why I suspect the final act to be in the aftermath of Shadaloo’s collapse.
Being called “A Shadow Falls” doesn’t mean the arc will keep going until the final act. It could conclude in the fourth and the final act can focus on the aftermath and clean up loose ends.
For Nash, it will be a recycle of Guile’s Alpha 3 ending where he sacrifices himself to stop Bison.
For Necalli, I see him dropping by during Bison’s fight with Ryu (after Bison wipes the floor with everyone) and eats Bison before fighting Ryu. A redux of Akuma’s first appearance in ST.
Capcom likes to recycle. Everything.
‘Shocking’ twists that I’d like to happen, but likely won’t because Capcom are that linear-
1- Illuminati never intended Nash to stop Bison all along. They just used that motivation to get him to run some errands for them under the pretense that the errands will actually help him attain his revenge.
2- Necalli consumes Bison like in the prologue prophecy, but Bison was counting on this all along. Now Bisonecalli is the final boss.
Rose can’t kill Bison. She admitted to it herself in SF4.
However, given that she is alive, and so is Ed (possibly the last remaining Human Incubator if I’m not mistaken), chances are Bison won’t die permanently either.
Unless Deus ex Necalli/Illuminati have something special up their sleeve for Bison’s soul that we don’t know of.
He actually consumes bodies and souls. Literally apparently.
He’s a Chekhov’s gun waiting to happen. Someone is gonna get eaten and it’s probably gonna be Bison, sadly*. What will happen after though, is anyone’s guess.
edit-
*I say sadly not necessarily because of a personal bias, but rather because I am not a fan of fluffing up new characters at the expense of established ones. Necalli doing away with Bison is just as bad as having Akuma in ST or Ingrid in Alpha 3. It’s distasteful, and bad writing.
Eh. I think it makes more sense this way. These aren’t matches taking place in a tournament. They’re real fights in the street. So rounds don’t make sense. And timers don’t make sense(unless, like, the base is collapsing or something).
That said, they probably could have given everyone, like, double health or something, just to make the fights last a bit longer.
maybe bipsons soul is like taco bell and it will give necalli a bad case of the shits and all the peoples he’s eaten will come back(some fighters HAVE to be eaten or what purpose does his devouring ability serve, story-wise?)
I’m pretty certain that there’ll be post-credits scene in story mode, implying that Bison survived the attack of “whoever seemingly killed him in SFV”. There’s no way Capcom would just erase him since he’s too popular and familiar.
I mean, he’d most likely on vacation in possible SF6, lending an antagonist spot for Urien / Gill + Illuminati but in the end, he’ll return.
It is surprised that out of all the dolls, Juni is the one who survived Shadaloo, considering back in the Alpha days she was the more severely brainwashed doll
I’m still annoyed that they broke up Juni and Juli. Either save both of them, or save neither of them. Having one stay and the other go bugs the shit out of me.
