Gotta admit, it was nice to see Gill again. Him and Urien (Urien a bit more so) have been growing on me over the years. I know Gill isn’t that popular, but I find him interesting and full of potential.
For me, the best thing to come out of Gill as a character was Urien. This is why I am hoping that in a future SF game, it will be Urien’s 3s ending that is canonized and we pick up the Secret Society from there.
I can see Gill working if they turned him in a true anti-villain to contrast with Urien, but currently he’s just evil Jesus and a bit of a lunatic.
Well I don’t know. Remember his 3s ending, he leads the chosen people to the promise land for a better life. I don’t think he is a evil Jesus though. He seems to do questionable things to meet his objectives, which I’d say are ultimately good.
Notable Gill quotes:
“My methods may seem harsh in contrast to my true intentions.”
“Immortality is not a gift. It is a responsibility.”
“With your ignorance, you only see destruction. It is in fact, a prelude to rebirth!”
Yes, Gill actually thinks he is doing good - In the same way ISIS think they are doing good, but with a little more class.
He’s not an anti-villain in the true meaning of the word. He’s just a regular villain with a penchant for ancient prophecy.

For a long time, he has been the boss of the Secret Society, who is said to dominate the world.
This is a cool way to see it
I ever seen it as Shadaloo fall and Illuminati’s rise, but it can be actually Shadaloo trying to take over a world already controlled by masson Illuminati way before SF3
Think that until that point Shadaloo was never powerful enough to be a real world treat, so Illuminati let official governments/nations handle it, now that nations can’t handle Bison they (Illuminati) step in the game
Exactly. There is an obvious comparison that could be made to the history of Germany and WWII and a certain dictators beliefs. However correct that comparison may be, I’m sure some would find it “distasteful”, so I’ll leave it at that.

Ansatsuken-TKD:I still don’t understand that man Hakan’s hair.
I do understand that his wife, not Chun Li, is the strongest woman in the world. She pushed out like a half dozen kids with that hair. She’s got to be God Tier to pull that off.
Either that or she’s bigger then she looks…
Unlikely

I was wrong by the way. It was seven kids. Ingrid would get bodied by her.

Those aren’t hats. There is a reason I said she was God Tier for pushing out seven of Hakan’s kids…

You know, it was just supposed to be a SMB1 reskin. Most of those enemies aren’t even in SMB1.
There’s only, like, 10 enemies in the whole game.
Anyway, I got a question for anyone that remembers when we first saw the Abel article. Do any of you remember which order the images appeared in that article? Was the image of him injured the first one, or was it the one of him as a Shadaloo trooper?

If it were up to me, I’d put Gill in V as a non-playable boss…just so Bison could fuck him up in a canon setting.
Edit: Holy shit!! Lord Daemos changed his avatar and I’m just noticing. That shit been around since I was a snot nosed punk reading Warriors Fate.
I kind of dislike non-playable bosses because that time could be used to develop a playable character. I dunno, maybe that’s me.
I’ve always imagined Gill coming back with gameplay like SFxT Ogre. If he revolves around fire/ice stances and his moves/costume are sufficiently different from Urien’s, he could actually be an interesting character. Some of Ogre’s moves, like the reflector kick and the burst attack, would actually fit on Gill very nicely.
This totally didn’t influence my opinion in any way

Actually it will be cool if they do Fire and Ice style being really different and give him a simple change-lead-side step as v-svill
Or maybe a simple v-skill attack (quick enough to be used in combos) that involve a switch step
So it will be like
Player1 side:
Normal stance -> Ice lead
Inverted stance -> Fire lead
Player2 side:
Normal stance -> Fire lead
Inverted stance -> Ice lead
While I wouldn’t mind him having a fire and ice stance, I wouldn’t want him to change his lead foot like that, because characters look bad when they turn their backs to the camera like that.

Yeah just have him stay in his usual stance but like lift his left hand and have it ice up for ice stance…or lift his right hand and have it catch on fire for fire stance
