Technically Sean isn’t Ken’s student in SF3 either. Despite both Mel and Eliza being fond of him. Ken doesn’t want to teach him. He gives Sean the nigh impossible task of defeating Ryu before he’ll teach him. Even in 3S Sean returns after Ken told him to train on his own. Ken is pretty much a dick to Sean.
It’s a weird relationship, I agree. I think Sean’s story in SFV would probably be him deciding to abandon Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu for Ken and the fallout from that.

Like, eventually, Ken and Laura will have their own solo articles in addition to their appearances in these Masters and Matsuda articles. Which is why Ken and Laura are wearing odd alt outfits in them.

Okay I know it’s totally unrelated to SF but I know you guys appreciate fandom…and I’m freaking out!
I just ordered a Gundam 1/100th Efreet Kai model kit. I have been waiting for this kit to be made (literally) for nearly twenty years and it should arrive from Japan just in time for my birthday (give or take a bit) next month. I am hyped through the roof! Woooo! This is a model of my favorite mobile suit and favorite mecha EVER and one that’s been sorely lacking from Bandai’s line of models. Seriously. Almost 20 years. So awesome.
