@“Doctrine Dark” I made a few revisions to Chun Li’s entry. Probably won’t be the first time I look through these. I’m working on Gief now, then probably Blanka after.
I’m hoping you guys @“Doctrine Dark” and @bakfromon are saving these translations everywhere where it’s possible. Pastebin, dropbox, local copies, Evernote, etc
I have a personal copy of the guide that Doctrine Dark updates on Pastebin as well as the mountains Japanese of text saved in my email should anything get lost in the thread (yes I email the Japanese text to myself before posting to the thread). So even if the pics happen to expire we still have the text pulled from the book to make any future revisions to the translations if need be. Good idea on the dropbox I just saved a copy to mine.
On another note I would add more to all this stuff…but 1) I can’t read or translate Japanese 2) all the info you seem to already have. Being useless sucks.
We’ve seen from Mika’s story mode, and from other appearances that Ibuki and the rest of the Glade Ninjas wear pink outfits in this game.
My theory is that village where the Glade Ninjas live is in a forest of cherry blossom trees. And that the Glade Ninjas change their outfits seasonally to match the colors of their forest. Ibuki’s outfit used to be brown because it was autumn. In SF5, it’s spring, so the Glade Ninjas are dressed in pink.
Being a person who tries to spread some jokes here and there is fine. No problem, but a class clown is not. I feel like the fifth wheel. Oh well. The readings been good though.
Yup, and like Bison I’m gonna be hoping around with some of these entries from AAC back to SF2CF and AASFEX, just to get the full perspective on each of the characters I’ve covered.
AAC SFEX entries are interesting as some not only mention of how similar they are to their SF2 counterparts. Chun Li’s EX2 entry even mentions how her ending is basically a copy of her SFZ ending, and Gief’s mentions how his EX2 ending is actually a combination of his SF2 and SFZ2 ending.
I enjoy your posts. I still hear them in Juri’s voice even though you’ve changed the avatar to some KI shit! It lightens up the mood when we get too serious (ie Akuma and Bison), so please don’t stop what you’re doing.
Yeah, that’s one of the things I’m loving about having so many different profiles. We get to see what the various writers were thinking at that time.
EX2 seems like the perfect setting to establish their stories from previous games because there doesn’t seem to be much else going on. The part that I thought was a bit odd however was Guile and Chun-Li confronting Bison, even though he was only behind the scenes and not even playable. The Zangief part makes sense because the guy in his SF2 ending has an EX2 bio.
We’ll have a better understanding whenever you have a chance to look over more stuff, but EX2 seems more like an “Alpha” type of game than a tournament. Kairi, Hokuto, and Garuda seem like the main characters in EX2. EX2+ takes it back to Shadaloo with the SH-11 drug, though. There was an old rumor that Shadowgeist hosted a tournament during EX2, so maybe that might be true.
Hey now ARIA is cold hot metallic ice. This stuff is like mmmmmmmmmmmmm the good stuff.
Anyway, Going back to bison and akuma. So they never met…yet right? If they did meet…then (back when bison wanted ryu’s body) why not just go after akuma? Clearly he was the superior fighter at the time.
Although Ryu would have had more overall potential than Akuma, ultimately Shadaloo would’ve had a harder time dealing with Akuma, who can sink an island at this time. Shadaloo couldn’t even subdue Evil Ryu in SSF4, and he’s less in control of himself than Akuma is in that state. Ryu is all about untapped potential and whether its corrupted or not. He’s not that strong at any given time during the story, he just could be.
