Yeah, he does the same in Ryu’s ending. If you have just the game and not the book, you could get to the conclusion that Bison being evil isn’t common knowledge and he tries to come off as legitimate. Just think about how casually the president of the Soviet Union steps into the arena when Bison is defeated.
He received what? A computer message? In 1991? And by Ryu, of all people?
Well, I’m telling you, while the first one would be fine if it was full body, the last 3 would be terrible for the purpose. I’m glad you like that guy’s art style, but it completely misses the point.
@DRW thanks I wasn’t sure which text belonged to which (I actually thought they were both for Ryu silly me). It seems that the connection between Adon and Bison during SF2 was that Adon had once stole a grey headed lapwing bird (ケリ “Keri” in Japanese) from Bison. Also, the literal translation about Ryu sending a “computer” message states that Ken receives a message from microcomputer.
Given the time period the game was released this makes much more sense, but I decided to at least give credit for Ryu using a computer.
Random question, but thinking back on the Cinematic Story Trailer gives me the impression that Decapre’s USFIV ending didn’t happen. Shame, it was one of the most emotional (the other being T. Hawk’s) ending in the game. What do you guys think?
I never realized how laughably bad the Alpha 2 dialogue was at times:
Akuma: (“Master Gen”)
Gen: "What do you want with me, Akuma?"
Akuma: (“Your defeat.”)
Gen: “I think not.”
I like how there’s () around Akuma’s words, as if he’s speaking through his mind.
Rose: "You! You’re the one with the Shoryuken power I feel!"
Akuma: (“Leave!”)
Rose: “You must be…(Akuma”)
Akuma: (“Perish!”)
Rolento: "Hey trooper, what are your orders?"
Nash: "I’m out to neutralize Bison, sir."
Rolento: "Over my dead body!"
Nash: “I hope you brought a body bag.”
Rose: "I see there is a hole in your mind."
Guy: "There is nothing in my mind."
Rose: 'So strong, yet so stupid."
Guy: “Can’t you see, this will be your final fight.”
Bison: "Bushin style Ninjas are no match for Shadaloo soldiers."
Guy: "I’ve fought your soldiers. Now I’ve come for you."
Bison: "My soldiers are skilled, but I am supreme."
Guy: “Yea, a supreme fat-head!”
I could totally believe that a guy that doesn’t live in a house might not be tech savvy. You don’t have to be a simpleton to not know how to work a computer. You just have to not have any exposure to one.
Capcom most likely don’t have the rights for the Slam Masters character designs. The characters have never reappeared in any Capcom product, not even in the Card Clash games. I guess Tetsuo Hara has the rights over tem.
So…does anyone own that artbook or whatever that has all of R. Mika’s fellow female wrestlers on it yet? And does it explain who they are? Because I’m curious if that one that looks like Poison is Poison.
Frankly, I don’t buy that argument anymore. People said the same thing about Strider and Karin and it didn’t stop them from being in UMvC3 and SF5.
He was hired to design characters for that game. Why would someone you hired own the rights to the thing you paid them to create?
Besides, they SNSM characters keep getting mentions in character bios. If Capcom really didn’t own them, I would think they would pretend they just didn’t exist instead.
True, It goes with the contract even SF2 design team were now.
Arika were the once that ask permit to Capcom.
As for someone that works in creative stuff from different companies under employment creative ideas and art direction.
This is a trend that happened to other long lasting fighting games as well. Eg compare the simpler story in KOF94 to that of today. Or how Fatal Fury 1 started and how it changed during Real Bout and Garou. Or Samurai Spirits Tenka that added even the White House in the settings! Samurai Shodown entering World Heroes territory…
Some games stopped at the right time, eg Darkstalkers, World Heroes, Last Blade and Art of Fighting. Or things would have been even more ridiculous
Also note that SF character appeared a lot in the VS series, so Capcom decided to add some supernatural elements and plot to the SF storyline
