The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

Billy

A psyched-up man with eye makeup and a mohawk.
He’s weak in a fight, but nevertheless likes to be noisy and cause havoc.
He’s the sort of man that likes the means more than the results.

Name: Billy
Height: 181cm
Weight: 68kg
Blood Type: B
Birthday: May, 31
Country of Origin: UK
Favorite things: Being Noisy, Friends
Dislikes: Boasters

He moved to US from UK just two years ago.
He came to live with an acquaintance, befriended during a punk band concert.
Eventually, while he and his friend were fooling around,
they ended up in a gang.

It seems he knows unexpectedly well
romantic literature and theatre.

Are they ever going to fix Miðgarðsorm’s name here? :expressionless:

The real story is that the only way the SRK could come back to butcher Midgard’s name completely.

I see no point in the butchering now that a reply icon is there… I wonder how they’d handle text from other languages?

@Midgardsorm I wonder if Blade’s knowledge about theatre and romance is based on the GCSE English literature course as they have to study a Shakespeare play, 19th century literature and modern literature. Usually most schools choose a play with romance as they provide students with a lot to write about.

Rick

He hits with iron claws!
Special attention must be paid to his rushing attacks.
Once he’s knocked out, he lies on the ground for a while;
because of this, there’s a rumor he regenerates his health bar during that. (He actually doesn’t do it in game)

Name: Rick
Height: 198cm
Weight: 98kg
Blood Type: AB
Birthday: March, 5
Country of Origin: Colombia
Favorite things: Grinding, Tooth brushing
Dislikes: Meat

He became a gang member after being invited
by a man whom he got to know in prison.
He has the bad habit
of reducing in pieces the street signboards with his claws.

Hey, kids, it’s property damage! Don’t imitate him!

Anytime I see a guy who wields three claws in each hand and something that mentions regenerating health I immediately think Wolverine rip-off.

I think that’s part of the joke.

Well, it’s an obvious reference.

@Darc_Requiem Thanks for your concern, but I don’t think it’s doable. It’s irritating, but nothing serious.

@TazyryLipo Certainly the GCSE could’ve played a part in all that, but let’s be honest: the vast majority of kids just forgets about Shakespeare the day after they’ve passed the exam. You just don’t retain these notions in your brain if you aren’t interested in them, and I think Capcom wanted to point out that this thug is actually interested in literature and theatre.

@Midgardsorm Probably did them at A-level if he went to sixth form.

I did my ENG Lit GCSE last year and most of my class get PTSD whenever “MacBeth” is quoted. For people who revised a few things are going to stay in your mind.

agree it’s a wolverine joke

they may have not thought or had forgotten that wolvie is short.

So glad the CFN is back.
They haven’t done proper profiles for season 2 characters did they?

Yes. They only made an appropriate profile for Menat as she didn’t exist before SFV.

But didnt Abigail look completely unlike his SFV version?

It’s not really about looks in the profiles as much as it is information. Akuma’s CFN profile picture was completely different from what’s presented but yet he didn’t get an update to his CFN profile so neither did Abigail, Kolin, Ed, or Zeku.

Okay Megaman X costume is coming

How I wish SF anniversary had those filtering

They finally announced that MMX collection that was leaked. I still wish the original ideas for the PS2 anniversary were put into this one. There was going to be a AST made for X1+2, redubbing Megaman X4 and actually translating X6.

That actually begs the question, will they leave the JP voices in X6 or will they just port the European/Arab/Asia versions and mute the voices.

This is what I meant - only Menat recieved a real character profile out of S2 cast as she’s a completely new one, while the ones for other chars are Pre-Season 2.

G

Mr. G loves himself.
He has no relation at all with that other “G”.
As a good delinquent, every day he works hard to his evil deeds.
His slight clumsiness makes him somehow attractive.

Name: G
Height: 172cm
Weight: 77kg
Blood Type: A
Birthday: April, 2
Country of Origin: USA
Favorite things: His Hairstyle
Dislikes: Money Management

His favourite attack is the Kenka Kick¹!
The “G” stands for “Great”.
Because he cannot maintain his hairstyle during rainy days, he usually doesn’t work when it rains.
He’s very generous and always treats his friends to dinner,
but as he doesn’t pay attention to his money he usually ends up skint in no time.

¹ Standard name for the running frontal kick, aka “Running Big Boot”. Its original name was Yakuza kick (because it was used by Masahiro Chōno, who played the part of a yakuza man), but, because of the Japanese tv censorship, it was changed into the neutered kenka, “brawl”.

Agree there were lot of interesting ideas during the PS2 rerelease even in SF titled collections. I hope they would include sometime filtering and other mode stuff. GBA revival of ST had interesting modes to that was never revisited again.

The problem with the GBA ports was that they treated it like a SNES when it was so much capable. They should’ve just built the remakes from the ground up rather than pull a SFA2 SNES.

I think the most interesting was the Darkstalkers one, they added a new character called “Dee”, basically the evil version of Donovan and gave the treatment they wanted to back in the original DS3.

I hope that the new SF collections add stuff like Cammy in SFA2 Gold, the Dreamcast version of A3, and the arranged CD for SF3:NG. Wouldn’t it be better for them to use the “anniversary” version of SF3 rather than waste space on having the 20,000 versions of SF2 and use it to develop and expand on the other games.

What I mean is I like to see those exclusive “modes” from handheld ports and those era compilation to return in future SF rehash collection titles.
