This is what one would assume but that would mean that Bison and Akuma shouldn’t be equal to health (3 points each) and Bison does not deal notably high levels of damage like say Abigail or Gief.
@Chun-Li_Forever I wonder what the fighters would score using that template you put up. Ryu would score at a 16 out of the 25 possible points meaning:
16÷25×100= 64% Ryu’s average output of power
Chun-Li: 15÷25×100= 60% Avr power output
Cammy: 18÷25×100= 72% Avr power output
I wouldn’t say that this is their true power but within a X≤Power output≤Y bound. In general, I’ll say that your template isn’t the sure fire way to figure out a character’s strength as the gameplay-story segregation present in cutscenes and other material we got to work with really changes this all so this isn’t all right as most characters would score at 55%-75% and characters like Yun or Rolento would have out-there scores. . Keep in mind that I’m basing the scores from the SFV iterations, so adding plot info like Cammy being imbued with PP in A2 or Ryu in SF3 these output percentages could vary. Ryu could be 70-77% by the SF3 era.
@Phantom_Miria [details=Spoiler]Your waifu’s got bragging rights after all.[/details]
(Canon) Character Power levels/tiers are a completely different discussion from any spider chart can offer.
We’ve had discussions on the actual power tiers of nearly everyone in the SF cast before. But it’s much more detailed and informative than a simple 1-5 rating.
Well considering that Ryu has fought Sagat, M. Bison and Akuma by the time of SFV, and he STILL says Abigail is the physically strongest opponent he’s yet faced (just that he lacks any sort of discipline), Abigail is the king. Discipline? Who needs that!
Enough Dragon Ball power levels, let’s talk about something far more serious: Blanka-Chan.
The best idea Capcom had since the '90s or a devious commercial operation aimed at selling more life-sized Blanka-shaped dakimakuras which also turned out to be the best idea Capcom had since the '90s?
I also found this little comic on Twitter, wonder if anyone here could translate it.
@Phantom_Miria Speaking of translations, does anyone know what the SF characters say in the MVSF victory scenes. The Marvel character except Omega Red have simple phrases but the SF characters seem to say something more. I wonder if there are any translations.
Well, Abigail being the physically strongest SF char ever is hard to debate =)
Could have been a question if Gief could or not equal Hugo in pure strenght despite size disadvantage… i think he can, he’s used to wrestle bears much bigger than himself (and twice as big as Hugo) and proportion wise was more heavy muscled, while Hugo got height and weight
But Abigail seem just well beyond both. Bigger than Hugo, more gorilla than Gief
They balance with being more skilled, Gief in particular, but that’s another story
-Sagat was powerful, but more compared to Ryu rather than in absolute terms (likely Rog is the most powerful King)
-M.Bison’s power is mostly about psycho power working as boost to his attacks, his pure physical attacks are average or a bit above average in terms of power
-Akuma can build up immense power in his fist, but is mostly about ki concentration (Oro can get super “strong” in the same way) rather than pure muscle strenght
Until proven contrary(with new character), Abigail may really be the strongest man of SF world, not only the strongest Ryu fought
@Cestus With Balrog, his punches are powerful enough to kill a adult elephant instantly if Dhalsim’s elephants are any evidence. I’d say that Balrog doesn’t have strategy and direction with his attacks, he just punches. If you get hit then it is over for you but if one is skilled and manage to avoid or take a hit then it’s over for Balrog. He’s a literal wall in that once you get over him you can easily brake it down.
TLDR; Balrog is the strongest in terms of damage but he’s the worst in other areas
Rog is likely the most powerful -pure physical/not KI- puncher of SF universe
Rog have essentially two heavy hammers for hands and straightforward smashed them on skulls, with ridicolous power and aggression. He got pretty basic style (outside some smart dodges) and added some dirt tricks to it.
He represented a caricature of Tyson’s style*, specially how he was perceived
Dudley is more a fencer, that represent the incarnation of the art of boxing.
If capcom ever did a boxing match between them will make Dudley win by angles, footwork, head movement and feints… i think they will make him win 9 out 10 lol
@Cestus Dudley’s fancy footwork would baffle Balrog for sure, Dudley might not be as strong as Balrog but has refinery and direction meaning he could beat Balrog at a steady rate. If Balrog does get a hit in, then the match is already decided because once Balrog gets going there’s not stopping him. I could say Necro or Cammy could rival Balrog and have a fairer time with him but that’s less plausible.
Win Quotes are unreliable narrators and intrinsically subjective. If Abigail is the strongest due to his sheer size, it isn’t because of anything Ryu said.
No idea where you are getting your Bison information either, but Bison is inhumanly physically strong - classes above most of the cast. When he concentrates his ki, he takes it up several more notches until he is in a league with only about half a dozen Street Fighters. Abigail may be gifted with brute strength, but a powerlifter doesn’t punch harder than a boxer who is half his size.
Punch for punch, Abigail is certainly not the strongest. All evidence suggests that SF3 Akuma currently holds that record.
This just isn’t accurate in the SF universe, where ki is the #1 indicator of strength, and selectively trying to separate one’s ki from their muscle fibers is really reaching.
Yeah, will not say Rog got just what in fight sports is called puncher’s chance, but is japan and theyr boner for technique and finesse over power and athleticism, pure anime heart over aggression punchindaface… Dudley win that 9 out 10 and maybe more with Capcom as referee =)
@Cestus Of course, the animators would have more fun animating Dudley’s fancy footwork than Balrog punching people, just look at the sprites. Dudley also has that finesse in his 2nd impact theme too (his best one).
only 5k FM left until I got 100k FM for Blanka
is there another way to get easy 5k FM right now in SFV AE other than the character stories? completed these already
trials, survival mode once you beat them show 4-5k FM, but in AE I don’t receive those
I reccomend doing Survival Mode on every mode (Easy, Med, Hard, Hell) with every character. At the end, you’ll gain EXP, which will levl up the character, giving some fight money.
If not, then hound casuals/ranked for a few hours.
