Leaks entirely made up by myself have confirmed that the story of MvC:I will be based on the Marvel team helping the Capcom team in recovering from the crippling meth addiction they’ve suffered since the end of MvC3 and that has left visible scars on their very persons.
The whole game will thus be an anti-drug ad.
They probably wanted to put characters that could represent the different games of the series, so Geki represents SFI, Karin represents Alpha, Gill represents III, Juri represents IV, Lion-Akuma represents V, Bison represents II while Chun and Ryu take the center as protagonists.
I don’t know anything about Marvel comics and I don’t even care for the movies, nor I have any idea about what’s going on with Marvel, I’ll say however that this Captain Marvel girl in short hair looks pretty cool, and I’d probably take it over the long haired one.
I like girls that can look good with short hairs, so I dig that design.
Chun-Li is Capcom’s queen. They wouldn’t intentionally make her ugly. This art design is hideous and clearly a Marvel suggestion since it resembles CoC so closely.
The MVC3 aesthetic was beautiful. Chun-Li looks light yrs better in that and in SFV.
Growing up, I always thought it was actually Ryu in the background. Only after realizing Sakura’s influence in the Alpha series did I notice that it was her. She fits in that pic, more so than Karin, IMO.
No qualms bout her design-wise, it’s just that Marvel comics has been trying to heavily push her brand to no avail for a few years now. I wouldn’t be surprised if they influenced Crapcom to make their classic flagship first lady less attractive than their own new flagship first lady in order to make Captain Marvel more well known and potentially grow her virtually non-existent fan base. I wouldn’t be surprised if they made Morrigan look like a cheap prostitute now.
Carol as Captain Marvel would be more successful if they didn’t force A-list status for her. Constant relaunches isn’t helping the character gain a fanbase.
