Ryu’s 3P+LK+Up need to be jacketless Mizuguchi style, so they covered bot ingame and ending Mizuguchi =)
Only thing i’m not fan of are shitty full gloves, will have preferred white hand stripes with free fingers… it will also link with stripes on the waist
Also he need blue color in style with this other mothefucker
They said it was only going to be up for 40 hours.
Hope someone saved that artwork somewhere.
We can’t say that with certainty.
Sure, she’s not shooting flames or electricity in that shot, but it doesn’t mean the suit isn’t enhancing her strength or reflexes. Since we don’t actually know everything the suit actually does.
Hell, for all we know, the suit is programmed with moves and is fighting FOR her, just like in that Jackie Chan movie.
Trained to fight doesn’t mean she’s on the level of the rest of the cast. As weak as Dan and Sean are, at least they are fighting with their own power. Using a battle suit to enhance your abilities isn’t just cheating, it’s fucking lame. I don’t like cheaters.
There are no rules in a street fight IMO. That’s what makes it a street fight. You can’t cheat if there are no rules. Every fighter in the series comes with their own motivations and ethics, and the ideas that they fight for are ultimately what it’s about.
Juri brings a nuclear reactor, Akuma brings forbidden teachings, Seth can literally copy you with a machine, Rolento brings grenades, Sim brings the blessing of Agni, Nash brings mystical gifts, Cammy brings genetic superiority, Bison grows stronger exponentially on a rainy day, and a gun is just a gun. Much like power is just power. There is no difference!
Exactly, but it’s not about being fair it’s about winning or losing
Only if the other party brings a gun then it becomes a gunfight
If you’re facing off against someone who is unarmed but can somehow dodge bullets, deflect bullets, or disarm you then having a gun is just another underhanded method like bringing a knife or trying to go for a low blow.
Besides, the strongest world warriors are basically immune to gunfire in some way or another. Whether it be dodging bullets or just being strong enough to tank them.
Juri, Seth, Rolento, and Bison (in some cases )are flat out cheats. I’m not sure what the dust up is about. It’s not like I’m saying something that I haven’t expressed several times before.
This is discussion is what makes this scene so badass btw. That Chun-Li could’ve used the gun (not that it would’ve affected Bison and many many SFers for that matter), but she chose not to because her worldview and martial art ethics prevent her. She decides to stay true to herself and fight “fair” even though Bison is beyond her. Ultimately, this scene is the very reason why Chun-Li is the strongest woman alive.
I was trying to find the animated version to get the point across better and I found this:
I was like DAMN, seeing these two as a subboss for the first time was just awe-inspiring. Will miss this Shadaloo.
You have no taste. Go play Virtua Fighter if you want martial artists.
Morality is very subjective. Akuma in the eyes of Gouken is probably cheating, and Gouken in the eyes of Akuma is probably an idiot for not doing everything in his power to win. They both have their pros and cons, I could follow the logic of each.
It all depends on what you are after, and who you are to begin with. The point of view of a demigod like Gill or an immortal demon like Bison is difficult to equate to the point of view of Ken who just cares about his family, friends, business, and reputation.
Cheating as an objective absolute simply does not exist. Were Guile, Cammy, Ryu, Ken, and Chun cheating when they ganged up on Bison in SF2? Were they cheating again in the SF5 CGI trailer? Ryu and Ken versus Bison in the anime? Who was cheating when those two used their ki to shoot at Bison after he vowed to fight them without resorting to his own ki power?
This is SF and we shouldn’t misconstrue it with some paragon of martial artistry, when it is really all about embracing every type of fighter (i,e. one who fights not how one fights).
I think SF wouldn’t be as interesting if everyone played “fair”. Of course, the true martial artists who use their own strength and ki are far more common, but the weapon users are there for variety. This isn’t Virtua Fighter where weapons are absolutely forbidden.
Also, if you defeat someone wielding a katana or a gun with your bare hands, that gives more merit to your victory, and speaks volumes on how strong you are.
True martial artist? Can Cammy ever be a true martial artist when she was born, or rather created to be a super human?
Can Bison ever be a true martial artist if his martial art of choice generates and hones its ki from the negative energies such as hate, fear, anger, and despair found in himself and others?
“True martial artist” is just a very loaded word IMO and shouldn’t be thrown arounded in a game like SF. Juri was TKD world champion by 25 but replaced her lost eye with one that goes above and beyond restoring her sight? Is she a true martial artist? It’s still her ki that is being amplified. Necalli uses brute force and technically has not studied any sort of discipline we are aware of? He is a warrior obviously, but “not a true martial artist” according to some.
Example - Seth can learn Oro in an hour through his cybernetic augmentation (most of which was forced upon him). Ryu can learn Oro in 15 years (according to Oro) through sheer discipline and dedication. Is Seth cheating for using the body he did not choose to be in with the perks he had no choice in having? No. Because there are no absolute rules that apply to either. Everyone is using the cards they are dealt to win the game they wanna win.
Nope, pretty sure that’s SF - and I love it. The true overarching themes in the franchise are the mix and matching of cultural stereotypes and imagery, some of which are deliciously tasteless and politically incorrect.
