The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

@“Doctrine Dark”

Really entertaining so far!

Akuma doesn’t strike me as the type to go to a Shadowloo base in the middle of the fight. He’d wait for the strongest fighter to emerge from the chaos and challenge them.

Akuma would hook up with Fevrier, we all know deep down he’s a little bitch that likes to be bossed around

If Akuma’s SF4 story is anything to go by, he went looking for Ryu after sensing him, ended up coming across Seth, and eventually found Gouken right after Ryu had his SnH sealed. Assuming there’s a huge power he can sense, I don’t think he’s above searching for the source and trying to have a fight with them.

The one that interfere in a fight is the ST’s Akuma, while the Revival and the latter is the one that wait for the strongest to challenge?

Not only has Capcom backtracked on that as Akuma developed more, but outside of ST he tends to be a secret boss that only comes out when you’ve proven yourself to be much stronger than the AI.

-Akuma appears and takes out the 2nd Impact boss before you fight as well.

-In EX, he hits Bison with a Raging Demon and challenges the player.

-In Capcom Vs SNK 1, he attacks Bison with that chop from the air and challenges the player.

The thing about Akuma is he sorta just fights whenever he feels like it:

-In Alpha 1, he finds Bison, challenges him, and defeats him for good. Beating Bison was what made Akuma realize his journey was over because no one else in the world was capable of fighting him. In this particular continuity, Bison is way above everyone else and the last person Akuma thought would be a challenge.

-During Alpha 2, he finds Gen, has a roughly equal battle with him, and then spares him because of his illness. This takes place on Gen’s stage, as you can see the Hong Kong alleyway in the background.

-Akuma encountered Ryu during Alpha 2 as well. Ryu actually found him on his island and challenged him.

-His Alpha 3 story has him finding Bison like he did in Alpha 1. After finishing Bison, he comes across Gen, again, and they have a rematch.

-All he does use the Raging Demon against Bison in SF2. No other story development.

-Ryu’s power gets Akuma’s attention. This prompts him to go out searching for him.

-Finding Ryu was still Akuma’s priority in V. He eventually does and fights him again.

-2nd Impact has him urging Ryu to bring out his full-power in the Satsui no Hado so they can fight. Ryu says there’s no point now that he’s above that power. Not sure what else he does here. His ending doesn’t even take place in the same time period.

-Akuma’s only known encounter in Third Strike is Oro. Not sure who approached who. Possibly Oro since his story says he was out looking into the Secret Society or something.

With Akuma, the most you can do is look at the motivation behind his stories throughout the games. Most of that consists of him searching for the ultimate fight.

Akuma was included in the SF5 story though, he was in hiding in a cave somewhere after having had his confidence broken and suffering utter defeat by his goody goody brother. He went to the forests and started taking out his rage on animals - something not even Bison would do to those poor things, those trees!. So once Akuma grew his hair and beard long enough to avoid being recognized for the shame he endured at the hands of Gouken, he was able to leave the cave. He probably also thought it was weird that the electricity went out and the screams of millions could be heard in the distance.

Alas though, Gen found him out and Akuma won’t allow him to see him in this depressed and broken state, so he killed Gen to keep his secret safe.

Then when he heard that Ryu just had to endure WW3, has overcome the SNH permanently, he went in for the kill while Ryu was still weak and reeling from his fights with everyone and their mother. He also wanted to extinguish all the happiness, that light at the end of the tunnel, after years and years of struggling with bullshit Akuma put in his head and Bison took out of his heart all those years ago.

That’s the level of coward he was in SF5. Thankfully he remembered his parental duties at the last moment and spared Ryu the oblivion that he himself has come to know and embrace to well.

Funny thing is while we always joked about Akuma’s rage towards nature, AAC touches on this as well:

They always knew what Akuma was about.

Are we sure this is the canon ending as Gen’s turns it upside down?

I believe so. Akuma’s Alpha 3 ending has Gen admitting that Akuma won’t win again:

So when it comes to Akuma, it at least pinpoints that there was a previous battle between the two. Now we don’t see who the victor is here, though I’m assuming Akuma likely left the battle once again since Gen is alive in SF4.

Gen’s Alpha 3 storyline doesn’t seem to reference his Alpha 2 battle with Akuma. It just says he’s in search of a death match. After finishing Akuma, he says it would’ve been worthy to be killed by him, but now that opportunity is over. You sorta get the impression that this was Gen’s first encounter with him.

They never officially fought in SF4, but Akuma’s SSF4 win quote has him calling Gen crazy for attacking him despite having such a weak body.

Akuma’s record against other high level characters is something like this, correct?

Akuma vs Gen: 2-0 (W-W)
Akuma vs Gouken: 1-1 (W-L)
Akuma vs Oro: 0-0 (Draw)
Akuma vs Bison: 1-0 (W by SGS Sukerpunch) <- fixed to never happened
Akuma vs Garuda: 0-1 (L by bitchig out) <- SFEX
Akuma vs Gill: 1-0 (W by SGS Sukerpunch) <- classic Gill just conceding a win?

And where does FANG belong my good man? I mean besides a landfill.

Akuma vs Gouken is 1 W, 2 L. He lost to Gouken initially (Gouken fucked him up pre-SF), then won during SF1, then lost during SF4.

I am 99% sure Akuma vs Gill never happened.

Wow the amount of wank in this post alone is haunting.

After suffering from his lost to Gouken, he decided to take his anger out on the other old man simply because he could.

Shameful.

But on another note, I’ve been reading through the plot guide again. I always like looking back at the original stories for most of the cast.

For example, Alpha 1 Ryu’s story has him hearing about a martial artist being able to wield a mysterious “Psycho Power” and decides to see if the rumors are true. Even though Ryu doesn’t fight Bison in Alpha 1, the backstory was early foreshadowing of the in-depth history between the two. It only became more significant over time.

Bison’s early story changed a lot, too.

Alpha 1=World conquest. Eliminating Rose seemed to be a priority of his, and the ending makes it seem like no one else can stop him.
Alpha 2=Attempts to brainwash Ryu to serve him.
Alpha 3=Attempts to take over Ryu’s body. He believes the full-power of Psycho Power would work perfectly with Ryu’s body.

You have nothing of value to add to this thread, so go suck a dick Will, and I mean that a bad way.

Frankly, the broken record of Bison hymns you’re always playing doesn’t exactly at a ton of depth to the thread either.

Ryu just seem that man that born once every fuckton years, all masters in some way want to bring him to theyr way as successor… in some way all see in Ryu the future of theyr style

Bison- Psycho Power
Akuma- Satsui No Hado
Gouken- Mu no Ken
Oro- Whatever Oro does

Of the highest tier only Gill seem to ignore him, and Gen if we want count him there too

Gill may just still ignoring him (SF3) even if somehow he crossed his design (SFV) and is focused on Alex.
Also Gill is young himself does’nt seem in search of a different face from his own for the future

Gen just does’nt strike ma as the Master that want an already grown-up disciple, seem more the type that want raise his own disciple from zero… ironically this is probably Oro’s mindset too, but in his eyes Ryu is some kind of promising child that must learn even to walk lol
For that reason i liked the dropped (?) concept of a Gen disciple, some kung fu badass in his 20s able to KTFO Yun and Yang at the same time =)

At some point i think Ryu will left Oro’s way too to do his own thing, after all the true point of his arc is not the final fight with Akuma, but the end of his path as eternal student and reach the self awareness to have becomed a Master himself

Isn’t Oro the Senjutsu master?
