The IL FAQ/Information thread *Happ now is too grimey to even use Cherry switches*

1.25in it’s like 30mm, so yeah, I guess I’ll be fine. Thanks for your quick and very useful answer!!

Question 2: Is there any particular method to center the stick to it’s hole? I’m asking this, because with the first stick I built, I had many problems centering it, so my brother did it for me - too bad he didn’ wanted to tell me how he did it. Now we’re about to start a fight, so asking him again is no solution. If you could share your experience doing this (centering the stick, not breaking your brother’s nose), it will be cool - again.

Thanks!!

The best way would be to get a drill chart that shows the stick hole and the bolt holes so that you can just align the drill chart correctly on the control panel and drill away.

Thanks for the answer, I think I got your idea - thanks!!

Just a little tip I got from someone: You can make HAPP pushbuttons easier to press if you just take out the springs.

Wouldn’t that not allow the button to reset back to normal?

Are your microswitches vertical or horizontal?

horizontal

Luckily the microswitch resets the button. It just requires less force to push down. If you don’t believe me go try it for yourself.

That seems pointless. If I wanted gross unresponsive buttons I would play with some gross Hori knockoffs.

Well go try it out, no point talking bad about it if you haven’t bothered to test it.

Alright everyone, I wonder if someone can help me here.

I just recently bought a brand spankin’ new iL eurostick.

Some odd thing is going on with the stick though. It is like its getting stuck or something. It moves perfectly in a circle but when I go from down to up it feels like it gets stuck.

The switch is still activated but the stick was impeded in its full throw length. It takes just a little muscle to get it to go back up but its REALLY annoying for play.

I have an idea on what is happening (the part where the shaft went through were the spring is looks to be like it needs oiling or something?).

Any thoughts?

I was wondering if I can have HAPP transluscent rings from the transluscent buttons with competition plungers and vice versa? Just curious because I want to see where this will go.

The only things I can think of are…

  1. the spring was put in incorrectly and is getting caught
  2. shaft is bottoming out (hitting the bottom of the box)

Check for both =P

I had the exact same problem with my competition. What I noticed upon examination was that the actuator was going diagonal in such a way that it got stuck on the corners. Upon further inspection I found that my e-clip was a little loose, so I tightened it up and there were no more problems.

How did you tighten the e-clip? Sorry if it’s a very very stupid question.

Well it had been kind of knocked off of the shaft so I just took a flathead screwdriver and pushed it back into place. I think the way I said loose implied that it was like a loose screw or something lol. Hope that clears it up.

Did you notice this before installing the stick? Could be the that the shaft is hitting your stick case.

This is really really dumb question, but are the actuators supposed to be loose? It readjusts itself whenever I hit the corners.

Yeah they are for Competitions/Eurojoysticks.

I think i would know if it was hittin the case (its in a SFAE so thats a no lol).

OK, just figure I mentioned it since I have tried putting happs in other cases and the actuator would hit the wood casing.

I would just take the stick out, and completely reassemble the whole thing.
