the +5v is the power it needs to operate.
thank you for the info.
One other question. There are 3 ground wires. 2 brown ground wires that were daisy chained from the buttons and 1 black ground wire coming from the pcb. Should I wire up all 3 grounds to the happ comp or just the daisy chained brown ground wires? Iām going to snip the +5 wire and electrical tape it closed.
What is the PCB from? You need a ground for the buttons and another for the stick. You will have to daisy chain a ground for each of the competitionās switches.
The brown grounds were coming off the buttons and the black ground was going from the pcb to the stick. The pcb is some generic looking thing. Iāve never seen a MAS with a 1st party controller PCB.
Well Iām not to acquainted with Mas PCBs (I think theyāre not even PCBs to begin with, think theyāre called PICs?) but anyways just daisy chain the black wire for the grounds of the competition joystick. the grounds being the top most connection of each microswitch of the stick
Where can I purchase a hard spring for an IL Comp? Thanks!
@Moonchildeā
Iām also puzzled that the majority of the recent necro thread bumps are from members who joined a long time ago with relatively high post counts, rather than newly joined n00bsā¦

Like this?
Well most noobs donāt know how to search. Most of the Old members who Necro old threads are relatively inactive, Been around 8 to 11 years but have one eighth the post count I do.
I use the search feature, I didnāt see the point in creating a new thread when this one has tons of good information. In the future someone may ask the same question I just did and they can find an answer her as well instead of cluttering the forum with another thread.
So can anyone help me with where to get a hard spring for a IL stick, thanks.
Maybe theyāre stuck in a time bubble and can only see posts from the last time they logged in?
I donāt know, google for iL vendors and send one an email asking if they stock springs? I can think of only 1 vendor at the moment who stocks iL parts in the USA and that is Paradise Arcade. Now you donāt even need to google
I would help you more but I donāt know who sells hard Happ/Il springs.
If nothing else try your local hardware store for a pack of assorted springs.
Thanks for the help.
I know this is random, but are the springs in IL Comp Eurosticks silver/platinum looking or are they dark metal with a copper tint to them?
What“s better the Universal I.L or PSM I.L or I.L magnetic?
PD: Psm the shaft is very short?
Never seen anyone rock a Universal or PSM for fighting games, you would be the first or part of a group of very few.
Magnetics are kinda a compromise of wanting American Joystick feel but also a lever that will fit in a smaller Fightstick body vs. the giant MAS and SFAE ones. Tried it, didnāt like the feel.
Would recommend sticking with the tried and true Competition, Super, or Eurostick models. More people use 'em, so more people can help you with 'em
