Updated with pictures (courtesy of lizardlick) of Happ black 1-4 player pushbuttons
How long ago did the actuator change occur? I bought a pair of competitions from Happ over the summer (I didnāt know about good resellers like Lizard Lick then), both have black actuators. Everyone who has played on them who likes American sticks has been complementary. Are there different types of black actuators?
Are these two sticks actually the same?I want to remove the SANWA joke and get a Competition stick-a real fighter`s controllerā¦ http://www.starcab.net/product_info.php?cPath=219_68_149&products_id=588 http://happcontrols.com/joysticks/competition_joy.htm I had troubles finding a Competition in Europeā¦
I havenāt seen colored dust covers on the current happ line (though I could be mistaken). Iād guess they are knockoffs.
Also, Sanwas arenāt jokes just because you donāt like them. They are very popular sticks for good reason.

Both are located in Europe
just sell the HRAP and buy a MAS.
Sanwas are a bad choice for anyone who has a BIG hand. And when it comes to fast reactions, or when applying force, when playing incredibly fast games like MOrtal Kombat rev 3, Sanwa sux.On the HAPP homepage, it shows different colours for the Competitionā¦Any chance to see if the stick is a real HAPP, when opened?
You can always replace the Sanwa JLF with a Sanwa JLW-UM-8 or a Seimitsu LS-32.
The Sanwa JLW-UM-8 has a bat top, a stiff spring, and a circular gate available so it will probably feel the most Happ-like out of any Japanese joystick. Two very serious drawbacks are that one of the diagonals has a much small
"hitting zone" than the other 3 (If you but this stick, then install it so that the small diagonal is not down-back!) and the fact that it does not use a five pin cable which means it may be difficult to install on a HRAP (you might have to buy a JLW-TM-8 which has a thinner, shorter shaft and a ball top but a standard Sanwa battop can be installed on it with an adapter.
The Seimitsu LS-32 has a stiff spring and less dead zone, shorter engage, and ball top but you can install Sanwa bat top on it with an adapter. The Seimitsu LS-32 is considered to be a better stick than the Sanwa JLW by many people, including myself. It only has a square gate available for it though, which you may not like if you are use to playing on Happ sticks.
If you do not like either of my solutions, then sell the HRAP and buy a MAS.
whoa whoa
easy on the sanwa info
happ thread
not sanwa
but good answer
So if I were to order a competition stick directly from Happ, they would send me one with a black actuator? Every stick I have ever gotten from pony boy has a white one. Never had any problems with the actuators.
Also dragonjoysticks.com sells an aircraft aluminum bat handle that is compatible with HAPP joysticks.
Kinda on the expensive sideā¦ but itās great aesthetically and feels pretty much the same.

Wow those dragon handles are sexy as fuck
It would be helpful if the links to various HAPP accessories were all in one place, in the first post. (Like that dragonjoystick accessory.)
What is the difference between HAPP and SUZO?
Anyone know what, if any, happ buttons would fit the SF anniversary stickās start/select? I heard they were 24mm sized.
http://happcontrols.com/pushbuttons/601200xx.htm
Those SHOULD fit in it, but I donāt have first-hand experience with them so I canāt say for sure. From what Iāve heard those are actually Sanwa 24mm buttons.
I just did a search and SUZO appears to be a brother company to happ, but they handle other things in the industry and donāt make sticks & buttons.
Yeah someone else told me the same thing about the 24mm sanwas. Almost bought some from lizardlick.
Meh the thought of replacing them with better buttons is neat, but the stock ACās start/select work plenty good enough.
What else are cherry switches used for? I was looking up some refrigerator replacement parts sites, and the exact same happ switches showed up and were selling for $11 a piece!
