Is there a picture somewhere that labels what I need to solder on the Happ cherry switches? There are 3 prongs and I am confused as to which two I solder to. I need to know which one is ground and which one is the actual button press ( dont know what to call it). On the sanwa buttons, there was only two prongs so that was easy.
Thanks for the help.
P.S. I tried searching but all I get about Happ is this topic and stuff about the SF ani. stick.
HOLY SHIT. The iL Eurojoystick is apparently going to be officially released in WHITE for a limited time. I checked out Ponyboyās BYOAC thread just to see what was up, and then I read the news (even the title was changed just to spread the word lol). This is pretty awesome. Whenās the last time you heard ANY news regarding American parts? Also, if they do what theyāve always been doing with their sticks, it will come with a white dust washer. Excellent stuff. I already asked Ponyboy to put me on the pre-order list. GOGOGO.
I have a feeling it will look great in a lot of peoplesā American customs.
Iāve tried it and itās all up to your personal preference. I can play on them fine, but my friend has difficulty getting used to lifting his fingers to have it raise off the switch, instead of it being pushed up by the spring for him. shrug
^thatās exactly what I thought the first time I tried it. I still am pretty used to just easing on my finger pressure and expecting the button to do the work in bringing it back up. I guess thatās another work-around in dealing with more sensitive buttons.
I bought a HAPP Utimate stick on eBay without doing any research Is there any way to improve the stick? Apparently they have a loose spring? Could I just replace the spring? Are the plates the same size? Iād be nice to replace the stick with a Competition once the Ultimate starts giving up.
Iām hoping it is a competition joystick though. On TornadoTerryās shop, it says the comps come packaged with Ultimate booklets. Perhaps the Ultimate I ordered is really a Comp? :shake: I ordered from twistedquarter.
^I think you might be able to count on your order being of a Comp, because I donāt believe Iāve ever been in Twisted Quarterās store without seeing any listed. Thatās unfortunate, regardless. If you are able to, I would recommend cancelling the order and going straight for the iL Comp instead (higher quality all around) from Ponyboy. I have his thread linked in one of my above posts. Try to do whatever you can to get the 411 on your Twisted Quarter order first.
Hey, does anyone know a vendor I can order spare Happ/IL parts from? I think I have a nice clean solution for fitting a Wico balltop into an IL comp, but I need some small parts to do it. Lizard Lick is backed up until next month, and Happ has a $25 minimum order (the parts I need barely hit $2).
Or should I just wait until April and special order from LL?
BTW I tried that springless mod on a bare happ comp button, Iād have to say itās pretty interesting. Iām not using Happ buttons anymore but if I was, I would definitely use that mod.
Im curious does the springless mod make the buttons more āsquishyā like japanese buttons or is the still the distinct clicky feel?
Better responsiveness is a plus, but Iām actually quite fond of the clicky feeling. Doesnt sound like a worthwhile mod for me if the feeling is lost without the spring.
^Nah dude, itās just a really ancient thread (check the last page for the more recent posts). Ponyboy edits the OP frequenty, and upon e-mailing him about the news he told me that he would have the white iL sticks in a few weeks.
A clean retrofit for Wico tops? Thatās something I would like to see. I guess weāre all just gonna have to wait 'till April, however. What are the specifics on the way youāre planning to go about the fitting?
