This chapter was pretty awesome outside of a certain person “jobbing”.
To be fair, though, no one on the Hunter side knows that Hisoka is there. Hell, even Killua still doesn’t know that Hisoka is there unless Canary told him off-panel, though I’m pretty sure she didn’t since she has no way of knowing Killua even knows him or if he survived his battle with Gotoh. As such, we get a bunch of weaklings and some mid-tier people at best people likely getting ambushed by Monster Clown when they only expect “Needle Humans”, especially since Illumi’s “spy” seems to basically have Palm’s clairvoyance at this point.
Regardless, I literally said “oh shit” at the end of this chapter. The speech bubble placement on page 18 of Chapter 329 is so devious. I want to caress it.
It’s interesting to have Tsubone’s power explained; I’ve always liked “the narrator” panels that were offered for some powers in Hunter x Hunter so that characters didn’t have to carry the Idiot Ball and give away their secrets to the enemy. It’s interesting that it’s Conjuration, though I had suspected as much if she wasn’t outright transforming her body somehow with Specialization (considering how out there Alluka’s power is). It’s potentially rather busted depending on what she can turn into and who the rider is, especially since she can probably cover her exposed face with completely focused Ko, kinda like how Palm’s Black Widow Armor works.
Ride Armor
Spoiler
It seems rather impiled that Amane is emission. Wonder if that could be used for a spy-based Hatsu? Yep, still not completely ruling out Amane (or Canary) as the spy.
Bison will probably show up later with some needles stuck in him. Best panel was easily Hisoka’s “NOPE JUST ME LOL”
You guys are way to quick to jump on specialization for everything.
Gon is going to be so fucking weak after this arc, jesus. He hasn’t done ANYTHING but brood, or not be able to use nen at all. Killua has all this electric shit, and Gon is still on that janken. And he was a much, much, much worse fighter than Killua to begin with.
Actually, I’m pretty sure this is the first thing I’ve called Specialization that wasn’t. I haven’t seen anyone else call anything Specialization that wasn’t either. So…yeah?
True. It depends on what point he’s returned to as well…if he’s returned to one at this point.
He was done so quick I didn’t believe it was him. I went back to the beginning of the chapter re-read the names and was like “Damn”
I seem to recall people just considering weird powers specialization. Maybe I’m going crazy. Real talk, even if Gon comes back at his most powerful (non-transformed), he is still free to Killua. The eletricity bullshit is so useful, and while all that Gon can do is punch things really hard (which Killua can too because he is monstrously strong anyway) and cut things.
Ok, now here is something I don’t get.
What is the hunter association?
Group of dudes that proved their worth, and have been given license and resources to do whatever they want as long as they don’t break a few rules.
What is it that Pariston wants to do?
Make it more open to everyone so that _____________?
What the hell does team shadowloo (or whatever team bison was on) want to do?
???
These are my understandings at the moment, but I’m kind of lost. Translators complained before that hunter was the toughest thing to translate in jump (although Toriko got technical, and medaka box seems like a pain too), so I might be missing something in the jump from japanese to english.
Also, damned, read medaka box. It is really bad at first (I fucking hated it), but it gets really, really meta, moreso than bakuman which is actually about publishing manga in jump.
[details=Spoiler] yup, milluki and mom with the tsubone in the ballroom. neat chapter.
edit: wonder if the fifth rule means Killua gets unlimited wishes without harm if he’s the one Alluka loves most. [/details]
(Thanks for linking to the chapter, Du Fugitive. Also, yeah, I wouldn’t really be surprised by that theory for the sake of self-preservation.)
Fuck
[details=Spoiler]Teradin…
I’m guessing Lupe’s still alive, though.[/details]
I can’t say I’m surprised by that, though I’m more surprised that such answer to the mole problem was literally right in front of our faces the entire time. Thinking it had to be Nen when *Hunter x Hunter *is one of the few manga that doesn’t take place on Earth yet has always had realistic high-level technology without a clusterfuck of other things.
Sigh. K.I.S.S.
Hunh. Sounds interesting, especially compared to Toriko (since I’m not really interested in food).
Morau or Leorio or a female named Cheadle or a nigga who is probably the anti Christ of a fictional world where Illumi and Hisoka exist as only upper middle class evil? Yeah, whoever gets elected chairman, the association is going to fuck shit up.
When it comes to Togashi, he’ll lead you right to obvious points, but on others, like this election, there’s no way in hell I can figure out who’s winning this election. Probably Pariston just to fuck with us. I want to know what power he has that makes him a triple hunter anyway…
