That input lag thread almost got me too. But I end purchasing one for a great price. Gotta wait till that Split Frame backpack to go on sale so I can snatch one…
Next generation of console - UNLESS Hori comes up with some new fancy lever or buttons to justify a new premium stick, but I doubt it. You won’t be able to touch one for less than $300, probably ever unless its in bad condition.
Could you please link up Toodles argument? I’m interested in the intricacies and reasoning since I’m a layman.
Also to anyone else asking about the VLX Kuro and Hayabusa delay: I don’t feel it when I play and I still land my 1 frame links in KOF98 even switching between from the PS4 VLXs to the TE2s and other kinds of sticks. I’d say take the test with a grain of salt.
I don’t think that’s the Kuro, it’s got the xbox guide button, I think it’s the OG VLX with a Kuro CP.
I’d love to do this to my OG VLX. Much prefer the colour scheme of the Vewlix L, but that looks expensive - even if I find someone that will sell the Kuro CP, to ship to Australia would cost a bit I imagine.
I’m currently using a MadCatz P4U2 TE2 but I need XInput support, since they’re so slow in providing the driver, I may consider selling it and get a VLX Hayabusa instead.
Is the input lag for VLX Hayabusa similar to RAP V Hayabusa?
How is the stick in terms of cleaning? My TE2 would get dusts and residue stuck under the plexiglass and it slides from side to side sometimes.
I can’t speak for the hayabusa vlx, but with the OG one, the faceplate is one piece and it’s really hard to get dust residue stuck since it’s not a plexi. My VLX gets nowhere near as dirty as my TE that uses a plexi for artwork.
As for the stick lag… The day Mr Execution (Sako) says hori sticks lag and are crap will be the day I will start taking an interest even then, I don’t believe my reactions are that quick for it to affect my execution
I disagree. Toodles pinpointed a McCthulhu PCB installation issue (check out the video description on YouTube); he did not “debunk Teyah’s testing altogether”.
No, he just pointed out a huge flaw in it which in my opinion invalidates his method completely. While his video wasn’t in response to his tests directly, both used a similar method which has the exact same video frame counting method and is flawed.
But what is the condition? Also the Seller could not realize what they have or could just desperately want the money and sold it for less for the guaranteed sale.
I concur, Toodles video wanted to take the uncertainty human perception out of the tests.
He [Toodles] also went as far as to make sure that the resistance, capacitance, electrical impedance of the two different boards did not interfere with each other.
That the two boards are electrically isolated from each other.
Toodles tested the boards, not the stick. I suspect Teyah never really open up and document whats inside of each stick.
My problems with Teyah’s testing other than there alot of uncertain variables and Poor Documentation is the very broad, sweeping statements on how each board is ranked without a clear reason or rational behind those statements. The spread sheet was presented without explanation or means to interpret the spreed sheet. Also the Teyah test results given are asking for much more precision that the testing method would allow for.
Its over all just really bad science, not just the results are inaccurate, so are the tests
