Im pretty sure the quality was lowered this time around. There are these 5 noticeable bumps on the black panel and the finish feels different compared to the kuro and the og red.
Looks awesome! My RAP.V VLX got shipped yesterday. I’m going to put Sanwa JLF and red OBSF’s in it once it arrives.
Is it normal for my kuro top panel to not seamlessly open and close? I have to push it upward a bit when closing and also notice the bottom bevel doesn’t line up with the sides. I also notice screwing in the thumbscrews warping the plastic towards the panel.
the red one opens and closes kind of weird. the other vlxes kind of click into place when fully closed but theres no distinctive clicking into place. it just goes down completely smoothly >>
What have you guys been using to carry your VLX’s around?
I know that the Qanba Defender fits the VLX, but I can’t seem to find it available anywhere.
The Splitframe FS XL looks pretty nice, but I haven’t seen any legitimate reviews on it.
Thoughts or recommendations?
Yup, the paint job is absolute crap. I have indentations at the front and back of my top black frame. I’m probably going to be switching it out with the top frame from the empty shell I have waiting for a hitbox panel.
I would laugh if some how Hori didn’t keep any of the old tooling from the VLX production so the new “Falcon” VLX is done on a different production line with different tooling.
I really wanted to get a red vlx but after song all those pics of it I think I’m gonna go with the kuro one. I’m so picky and little things like that really bother me, specially when I’m paying $300 for something like that.
its not just the red hayabusa, there’s minor flaws on all of them.
dang, I guess I’ll see what I get with the kuro one. hopefully there’s still some available in a couple of months since I don’t have the money at the moment.
the kuro’s quality is definitely overall better so if the aesthetic isnt too important I would go with the kuro. It opens and closes much better and the paint quality is much better on the kuro. I prefer the minor dimples on my kuro compared to these paint bumps on my hayabusa

LOL, ya saw that earlier today too…Which one of you guys/gals is it?!? :# FWIW. I’ve had all 4 iterations at one point or another (actually had 3 different of the OG). All had minor issues here & there. I was in a rush last night to leave the house (left right after taking those pics in my previous post) so didn’t really look too much at it in detail but surprisingly, didn’t see any issues. Will do so later tonight when I (hopefully) play SFV.
For only a mere extra $145 above MSRP while the stick is still relevant and available in the market.
