The Hori PS4 VLX thread

Got my PlayAsia notification too.

I wouldn’t be concerned with the quality. Every one of my VLXs has the dimples, across every style released. So the time of manufacture really doesn’t indicate a drop in quality. The spots are less apparent on some sticks than the others. I’ve also seen the discoloration in the back plastic.

i think the quality varies from vlx to vlx. My original red and my diamond has no dimples at all but my kuro has 5 -_-.

How much was shipping on that bad boy to the USA? Like the total overall? I own the black PS4 version and love it but a 2nd wouldn’t be a bad idea…maybe.

Arcade Shock has them for $300 shipped, or $310 double boxed. My PlayAsia order was $295 shipped.

Noice, not bad at all. I live in CA, so Tax will suck. Play-Asia it is.

The bad thing is I notice that kind of stuff on every single stick ever made, EVER.
Rivets and screw inserts are going to show, so will casting marts on plastic objects.
I even notice the very, very, very slight insert marks on Jasen Hicks’ OG Panzer sticks.
Paint does not cover up minute imperfections, it magnify them.
The lines on the molded plastic is from when plastic is pouring into the mold and the plastic is already trying to cool and set. You get these very fine lines where hot molten plastic meets relatively cooler molten plastic that

I think you are honestly just a bit too much OCD over this.

I agree but for $300, he is pretty much entitled to be. Just love it at night, stroke it and tell it that it’s a naughty pet.

i believe shipping from playasia was $80 to california when i checked.

shipping for me was $59.90 to NY so I think it should be cheaper than $60 to ship to cali since its shipping from hong kong.

Physical blemishes asides, I think I’m digging this design and the new Hayabusa buttons, though your mileage may vary. They have a peculiar feel to them that I don’t think is replicated by any other button, at least by texture, and respond more similarly to OBSFs now compared to the Kuro buttons. They perform more like an OBSFs than PS-15s, which is kinda weird, and feel a bit more premium than the standard Kuro buttons. Tried them for SFV, TTT2, and DOA5LR and felt them to perform overall similarly to Sanwa buttons. I would say they are pretty much hands down better than the normal Kuro buttons–also, no squeaky!

I’m thinking about getting the VLX Hayabusa - does it have a plexi top? Can you change the art on it?

No, but you can remove the art and print and cut your own lamilabel but of course it won’t be as nice as the thick glossy art that’s on it.

Does anyone make a plexi top for the VLX?

Nope.

you can get a new metal panel with a different button layout and art from jasen hicks

Jasens Customs

I think he has sold out of his run of the tops. Personally I would like to have a top with the red Vewlix design from the first VLX. Minor change from what comes with the Kuro, but would be fun to have at least I think.

he will also do special one offs if you message him. It will cost a bit more but i think its definitely worth it if you want some customization done on the metal panel

You can have the whole case, if you want it. I can vouch for the seller. Updated 6/2- PS3 Red VLX with box, Exaprize BlazBlue TGS Stick

.

thats a shame. any pics in day lighting?
