The Hori PS4 VLX thread

its the default xbox one TE2

I might have to cancel my preorder for the USF4 TE2 and preorder this instead.

I’ve already seen them but let’s post some pics of the beauty up in here

Didn’t even know this existed until I received the email from Hori a couple hours ago. My only complaint is no stability board’s included. Does anyone know if orders from Hori USA will ship with the retail box & no outer shipping box just as the original VLX did? If so then the extra $10 at Arcadeshock’s well worth it if you’re a collector. About to email Hori now but they often take forever to respond back. If I get one then I’m torn if I should sell the VLX Diamond or not. Don’t really need it since one VLX is enough but I love the VLX design in general!

@heunnerisbonos …man if I had an Xbox one I’d be on it…I am looking for another PS4 stick

@heunnerisbonos I just preordered it like normal… Hey I may be interested in buying that TE2 shell off you.

Dam, no love for EU customers :frowning: full depressed here!

I bought a BNIB PS3 VLX exactly a year ago for $275 shipped, so not sure if I should bite…but that black and PS4 compatibility.

I bought it, I have been waiting for this

I definitely love the idea of a genuine Vewlix panel in stick form. Sort of like the Astro City Sega Saturn sticks.
Aren’t the VLX kinda prohibitive to carry around / use on-lap?

I’ve handled a Vewlix control panel off of its mounting and it certainly doesn’t seem practical to carry around regularly.
I suppose there’s the added weight of the glass, but the majority of it should still be metal unlike Astro/Egret3/etc.

Seems ideal for stationary home placement or the occasional special event, though.

Yeah is almost 2 feet wide and weighs 12 pounds.

Arcade Shock was the one who pushed for it, which should explain why it’s only the US and Japan that are getting it (US because, duh and Japan because that’s where they’re coming from).

Do you have any friends in the US that could proxy it for you?
The only downside will be paying US to EU shipping (and maybe some sort of import tax? I’m not entirely sure how that works for you guys).

Arcadeshock does ship internationally, but of course it’s not free shipping and you’ll most likely pay customs/duties/taxes whatever

I’ve never had a problem using either of my VLXes in my lap without the lap board ( in fact, the lap board made it awkward for me ). Carrying it around in hand is kind of tough, but I carried it around most of Evo '14 in the Hori travel bag with little fatigue.

It seems like Splitframe’s bigstick bag ( splitframe.net/collections/bags/products/fs-transporter-xl-fight-stick-bag ) may be more ideal than Hori’s own hard-to-find offering though, on basis that it has a shoulder strap ( and backpack straps, but I’m less exited about that). Seriously, who makes a bag for an almost 20 pound stick without a shoulder strap?

Speaking of Splitframe, though, I noticed a comment on ArcadeShock’s Facebook about 10% off that XL bag from them, but I can’t seem to find any mention of it now…

hopefully mine wont come with these dimples. they were pretty common and such a shame because you can’t check for them until you open it. once you do you’re stuck with it. i still have a diamond that is sealed and it looks worse on the brushed aluminum.

The black metal kind of kills it for me. I really like the brushed aluminum on the Diamond edition looks a lot better.

It’s black metal? I thought it was plastic.

The side panels and the back portion are plastic, but the rest is metal. On the VLX-Diamond, the control panel was brushed aluminum and the underside was powder coated white. On the original red VLX, the bottom and the control panel were both powder coated black and some people had a problem with the power coating coming off. I assume the Kuro VLX will also be black on black powder coated metal.

Oh nice, hope the powder coating doesn’t come off this one…
