Played HoN for the first time tonight. Kept buying the wrong items on accident. Overall impressions are good (item system is pretty good) since it’s pretty much DotA, but the only problem is that my microphone doesn’t work for whatever reason. I’m using onboard sound for my laptop, and although every single other program recognizes my microphone, HoN does not. Wtf? I don’t see how something so simple cannot work. :mad:

I’ve used to play DotA for a year+… Started playing it less and less since imo the map started to be worse and worse since 6.50… [6.49c forever!] and my friends always kept whining after every game
I’ve got HoN, But didn’t play too much. All I can say is that it has a much greater potential than DotA and it would probably be much better than it as well. [Tbh I’m already prefering HoN over DotA]

Big battles in this game can turn into a big cluster fuck. The effects in the game are so pretty, but when it’s 5v5 and everyone is popping their specials/ults at once, the screen is filled with so many particle effects that it can be difficult to see what’s going on. The other day I was playing Dazzle clone and we had a big 5v5 battle, but I had no idea what was going on with all the shit going on the screen. I couldn’t figure out who to heal/shallow grave because of all the stuff on the screen, and by the time it was all over, everyone was dead save myself and a fed luna. :lol:

In a situation like that, hold alt and try your hardest to pick the right target lol. But I know exactly what you mean. It’s a little easier now that I’ve been playing for a while (50 games of experience), but when I first started, I didn’t know wtf was going on most of the time. I just picked mashers like sven and got in there and hoped for the best lol.

got a question about blacksmith (ogre). in dota his ultimate was boosted by the staff of master equivalent but in HoN it’s not… can someone confirm?
i’ve been playing alot of thunderbringer, swiftblade, legionnaire, and just started a bit on blacksmith.
In the bottom left corner right above your mini map, there is an option to turn off individual colors, so all Legion will be red and Hellbourne Green, or the other way around cant remember. Just a good option if you new, cause it helps to see if Red = dead if you Green, and vice versa.

i dont understand how assists work in HoN…i clearly hit the guy once but get no credit…
