Shiva’s guard is her best item to start with if you wanna use her as a dps hero.
Never get windwalk on her, she has her windrunner skill for a reason. I still think shes more of a support hero.
Too make her ult effective u gotta land a good tree binding stun then throw focus fire on, run in get a few shots, use shivas so they cant run then finish them off.
Use her arrow nuke for early game harass / free creep killing. Thats about it.
So ya, this is WReCKiNSHoP- from Garena and former IHCS player. I’m willing to play with some of you guys who want to improve your play. No -em games. Yes, I have played with all the big names from MYM, KS.int, DMz, etc. My style of play will seem strange to you at first, but I learned playing on European servers where players are much more aggressive and ganking and killing at early levels (1-4) is common.

p.s. To settle the argument here from a few pages back, teamwork matters but 1v1 DotA is not completely useless either. If the mode is -apshomnp (same hero, only mid, no powerups) with normal starting gold (475) and you pick a ranged solo like SF, viper, or silencer, the better player will win 99% of the time. Maybe that will help you guys in solving some of the flame wars?
The solo lane, even in a 5v5, is essentially 1v1 dota for the first ten minutes and can make or break the game because once dominance is established in mid, the solo will then gank side lanes freely with runes while the dominated opponent will struggle to catch up in gold and experience.

Eugh, Garena. I played a couple of games on there, but the skill level was garbage ijn the rooms I went to, and i’m too lazy to work my way up to the higher levels of play on there. Now I mostly TDA/IH, nothing too good though, the best players I play with are like IHCS-1 max. If you’re ever on US East, i’m mkownsu.
I wouldn’t mind getting into this but I’ve never really played WC3 so don’t know. From what I know, it’s a mod to the game but is hella fun. Is it too late for me?

Well, you are right. It takes awhile to get known and to level up to enter high level games, but advantages are that it’s not full of maphackers like BNet, there is very little lag, and you can play with international competition. I have less lag to Denmark or France on Garena than I do to New York on Bnet.
No offense but TDA league is a joke and any IHCS players who played there are just doing it for the laughs. The skill-level, even in IHCS2, was three times higher than TDA. If you have a team going from SRK or wherever, you guys can go into clan war rooms even at level 1 on Garena and get games going. Mode is usually -cm and the competition is very good.
If you look at competitive dota replays, there are no serious games (inhouse league or tournament) played on Bnet. Ever wonder why?
Anyway, I would never play on BNet.
Oh don’t get me wrong, I know exactly the skill level of TDA. I’ve played IH’s with players like Fachh, and players from Pandemic, and i’ve played in short lived leagues like EDL. TDA is just a pub, but there’s fewer leavers than real pubs (but there are still leavers) and 0 lag. Plus the main thing is, it’s convenient.

It takes a while to get a feel for all the characters but you’ll get there. Oh yeah, unless you have a group of friends to play with, you’re going to hate it when you first start.

im trying to get better with windrunner too, do u activate windrunner skill when fighting on a tree-binded opponent while doing ult? or bind opponent -> ult -> normal attack -> after ult’s done-> use windrunner skill to negate physical attacks -> finish opponent? assuming u don’t have shiva yet should i do the second option?
Is MoM worth getting on her? cuz her windrunner skill pretty much cancels the bonus dmg she will incur when she gets hit. i dunno if that’s a good idea.
Do you know if icefrog is planning to stop the SD trick? where you share control in the beginning and you can pick from other ppl’s circles?

Fun TDA we ended in 23 mins with a level 1 Rosh.
Me and 4 friends were playing CM, trying out stupid/fun teams. We ran into this group of 5 who were playing dead serious. We ran with team bow and arrows (drow/windrunner/potm/medusa/clinkz) and obviously got rocked. However, the other team started talking mad shit, saying it wasn’t the picks, it was the players. So they offered a rm, and this is the result. It’s also why we were spamming “death by arrows” or w/e at the end.
These idiots picked three carry and venge/chen for some reason.
