I’m not a fan of power treads on Sven. I like BoT better since he’s a great pusher late game with cleaves and life steal.
sven is probably one of the few heroes that actually should pick treads of BoT, unlike a lot of other heroes he doesn’t need total map control, and should farm and occasionally gank, and enter team fights.
generally the two most accepted builds on sven are:
bracer x3
bottle
treads (str of course)
bkb
heart
in that order
or
treads
battlefury (get void stone first)
mom
heart
bkb
the first build is better if you have a heavy ganking game going, the second is better if you get lots of farming opportunities and a good cs early game.
genearally the deciding factor is: how much gold do you have by 12-15 minutes. if its low, go a ganking build (very cheap to assemble and be effective), if you get some great early game domination without bottle or your cs is really high, go a quick preserverance and farm.
theres a lot of ways to effectively build sven, even high level players go MoM on him if hes not dying in team battles. however its pretty well accepted that bkb and treads are his two biggest staple items.
remember that threads effectively:
add 20 damage during his ult (22 and 25 later on… which isnt that amazing), and the attack speed is what makes him scary during team battles, which is what your team wants. a scary str hero is what pretty much makes or breaks a tank in dota, you need high damage (or very useful abilities) or people will just ignore you. this is what makes bristleback and sven such good heroes.
DONT get gods str at 6 unless you are sure you will be fighting or pushing a LOT. you need the mana more for bolts imo, the extra 40 or so damage you do per hit isnt going to add up in a lot of cases, and youll get like a single bolt after you burn that mana. (unless you’re attacking a very low armor hero…) i generally grab it at 9 or so when i start roaming.
sven is one of my better heroes along with juggernaut 
Power treads on sven is like saying “Please run away from me, I cant catch you”

Sven is just about the only person i’ll ever get treads with. And I never had problems with people getting away from me. I have good teammates and we work together.
Yeah, I got GS at 6 for the hell of it, just because we were doing really well even at that point. Usually i’d get it at 10/11.
Hmm, good point about the bottle, but I found I never really did need the regen. I wasn’t neutralling too much, just laning/running around ganking. Obviously that was just that game though, i’ll grab one next time I use him.
Talking about treads vs BoT, what do you think about Sil? I usually get BoT’s on him, but his IAS is so fucking slow. With just BoT’s and a Guinsoo he does tons of damage, but it’s not as good as it could be. I don’t get anywhere near the DPS I want until a hyper/cuirass…I guess Midas would solve that problem.

I was owning today with Sven… No one likes S&Y for him? I got that, BoT, Vlad’s, BFury and a MKB. No one was fucking with me. ya, my build for sven starts of with 3 bracers, a helm, then i move up for BKB and nothing else. I don’t bother with satanic much though, i just go for SnY then a heart or blink. Sven is probably my top 3 or 2 heroes.
Galactic: I get SnY after BKB. BKB is very needed IMO. I go for SnY because it’s so easy to build plus it will add to the MS. having treads on isn’t bad, i seriously don’t get what Krass is talking about. Sven’s MS is fast with SnY and treads… besides, you have team mates to help you out. After SnY is random. I go for Hearts, dagger, BF, linkin or whatever. Mostly hearts. Try taking on a Sven with 2 hearts and a BKB… ouch. Nigga is imba. haha
Only reason I got Satanic is because I was one of the two primary damage dealers, and we already had a tank. SnY, naw. The MS isn’t needed in most games, and is definitely not worth 6000 gold, because Sven definitely doesn’t need half the shit it gives.
I just read about techies mines getting radiance… I have a strong horrible feeling that shit was a joke; i never noticed that. Does it really, i want confirmation?

also, bottle is huge on sven. you can’t be nearly as aggressive early game/ganking without it

I had a couple of games with one of the people who posted on here… can’t remember who it was now. Other than that, i’ve only usually played with YellowS4.
