i seriously wish that they would raise techies’ armor. IMO, i don’t think gems are the main thing that hurts his game, it’s his armor and life. You can still be very helpful (offensively) by euling, stasis, mines, ginsoo but no matter what period of the game, he has got to be the softest out of all the heroes. it takes less hits to kill him (either killing him or him killing himself).
The reason why is because the techies build must focus on his mana pool and mana regen; it’s needed to get ginso and euls in your inventory right away to actually be stable on the lane. You really hae no choice but to ignore raising his armor vitality regen; because you almost have no time for it… getting those two items will be some time; and after people managed to get euls and ginsoos, they’ll get boots next. It’s really hard building a battle techies against good players. In late game, techies will most likely be a good farmer/pusher but that’s not a GREAT quality/reason… mortred w/ BF, SK, etc are also great farmers/pushers late game. Techies is only better on the fun factor.
Whoa, really? Never knew that. Last time I played a techies he was a total suicide noob. Basically he maxed out suicide squad and even farmed a Lothar’s. Loser had like 8 kills - 14 deaths. The first suicide he did he got a double kill cuz no one bought any wards yet. But we ended up winning, of course. Nub barely planted any mines anywhere.
Where’s the first place you guys lay your mines? Mine is usually the enemy’s secret shop, that’s usually good for a quick kill or two.
Nobody gets “owned” by techies. He just elongates games. You can’t ward the entire map, or have everyone carry a gem, so eventually someones gonna die to randomly placed mines, delaying their next item. He also slows down pushes and the general length of the game.

Techies is a fantastic farmer, one of the reasons his stats are so low. Euls/BoT/Guinsoo/Skadi/Butterfly. Of course, now that euls is changed, I dunno the build order. It’s a hard build, and i’ve only managed to reach it once in a TDA game.
Using his mines, you can creep pull pretty much any time, even after :45 seconds on the clock, and not have to worry about corpses blocking the next respawn, because you can pretty much guarantee killing the creeps outside the respawn box. plus with his mines he can take out high level creeps FAST at low levels.
Yes, I fucking suck because I don’t have wards on me at all times or have a gem on me at all times. Clearly I suck because I’m not using my infinite amounts of gold and item slots to put wards and gems on my hero so I can see mines anywhere on the map. Can’t even put wards on bird anymore without spending over 900 gold. I’m the worst DOTA player ever.
No. You’re both 200% wrong. If you had an ounce of skill, techies would be forced to suicide or die all fucking game.
Die to randomly placed mines late game?? You gotta be joking. Unless he randomly places 7 mines in one spot hes not gonna catch anyone unless theyre stupid as fuck.
On a side note, techies mines stop neutral creeps from spawning. Though, i bet techies is an awesome jungler, too bad there is no point to him farming.
Uhh… you’ve never seen a high level techies then. I have some replays saved on my old comp, it’s the most annoying shit ever. His ward is the most imba stun in the entire game.
With a blink dagger, he can effectively fuck up your neut farming, because you either run into mines, or waste money on sentries to ward your neuts. I’ve seen techies stretch out high level games to help late game heroes carry a win.
