Donkey Kong is awesome. I’ve been playing the one at Slackers whenever I’m bored of pinball recently, and lemme say, it’s as good as I remember

donkey kong? really? that price on ebay looked like it was double of what i’ve seen. I bought both of my adapters(SEGA sytem 16/shinobi and CAPCOM classic/G’nG) from a guy at multigame.com? they were 20 bucks a piece. of course good luck finding a DK board for cheap … especially now w/ that movie out!

edit: Clay Cowgill at multigame has one for $40 and it’s the deluxe adapter(just like the one that we had at gunther’s via Rodney Butler’s Double donkey kong cab … remember that?), meaning it has little pots on the adapter that adjust volume, RGB, etc.?

Sorry for being a bad host to you guys yesterday. Shekeib I can see the huge improvement in your game since the “japanese infusion.” You better watch out when i come back from Bulgaria:confused:. I want to play you, Andrew:lovin:, and Shohaib more often.
Andrew - Ken/Makoto are the way to go. Your Ibuki looked rusty and that stick wasn’t helping either. Your Ibuki was pretty good in the final days of gunther’s. Lots of in your face mixups. I would try and learn ken/makoto though. They take less damage, and throwing is strong w/ both of them.

Well I was playing rust-colored Ibuki. Durr hurr hurr.
I actually don’t think I’ve lost a lot with Ibuki from the late Gunther’s days, it’s just that when you, Shekeib and Shohaib are playing on your level you are going way too fast for me to keep up – so it’s gonna look bad no matter what. Those in-your-face mixups slow down a lot if they’re being parry-punished even like 10% of the time.
I’ve noticed good Japanese Ibuki players don’t really rush down as hard as I do either, and I’m sure it’s the same risk/reward problem that gets me killed. I don’t remember that Nate guy being hyper-aggressive either. Also if the match isn’t in a controlled situation (me obviously on offense or obviously on defense) I have a hard time staying patient without just letting the other guy get right the fuck up in my face.
Really I just wish 3S was ST but with Ibuki. I’d play it then.
Ken/Makoto? You think? I’ve tried Makoto so many times and never had much success. But I’ll work on it. I really need like detailed advice from you at 3S if you have any (if you don’t I know where you’re coming from, I always kinda have a hard time giving people “general” GG advice instead of really specific stuff like “here’s how you compensate for reversal backdash off of this specific knockdown” etc).
So if we’re playing GG tonight, I hate to nag, but can we do it at my house? I should be by my computer and shit for my homework.
