Nah, I’m not moving out at all. The move-in date was too close to the beginning of the semester and I had way too much going on, I felt like it would compromise my grades.

An update on our boys. Aaron, george, and prucha drew gibson and yossan in round one of AC, and proceed to knock them to the fuckin losers bracket, with our own loveable big dude taking out gibson personally.

Talked to Aaron, he said they made top 4 for Sunday, but they’re in losers and will be playing (I think he said) Flash’s team. Yossan and Gibson’s team is in winners due to some weird bracket reset, and will be playing Mint/Bas/? in winners.

I’ll still play GG with you guys, but it’s hard for me to take it seriously. I just don’t see anybody working hard at it anymore, especially now that we don’t have an arcade. But this has actually been going on for a long time.
I mean AC is wack, but lots of games are. The inherently fun thing about fighting games is that you’re fighting against another human being, so no matter how stupid the game is if it meets some minimum requirements (i.e. not SVC) it will always be as interesting and worthwhile as your competition.
I’m not criticizing anyone, I just can’t stay motivated when we used to have a dynamic, interesting scene. I got used to that. I think my own bitchy attitude is part of why it died off, too, but… hey whatever 
The most fun I’ve had with fighting games in like for fuckin’ ever has to be the last few times I played Josh at 3S. I hate 3S and it’s a really frustrating game but there’s a neverending exchange of metagame ideas going on when I play him and I have to think constantly not to get double perfected. Some of you guys haven’t tried a new GG character in a year or more. I see some of you never going for combos you’re afraid you’ll miss.

Well, grammar criticism aside, it’s hard for me to always have time to play games so of course I can’t play as much as some people do. There’s other stuff that simply takes up my time.
Plus, and this is the big thing, I’m only going to work as hard at games as long as they remain fun. GG stopped being fun for me for a long while, so I stopped trying. Now, with AC i picked up a new char who I have fun playing, and I’m trying to relearn the game. In fact, I think the last few times I’ve played with you josh derek etc matches have been interesting and mostly close. Shit, we started to have a semblance of a scene there for a couple weeks. So I don’t see people not trying or not taking things seriously.
OK, we had a semblance of a scene and then what happened? Do you get what I’m saying here? I meant it when I said I’m not criticizing anybody. People move on from games for legit reasons. I just miss when our real lives mattered less and we could go to Gunther’s every day, and GG reminds me too much of that. I’d much rather start anew with some game I don’t have fond memories of, honest to god.
But no one is really trying and no one can convince me that I’m wrong. Josh, you’re exempt from all of this because I saw a lot of transcendental play from you when AC came out. I know you want it. I wish there was a better way for all of us to play. We used to have a really strong scene here. I think we’re way below average now.
point made, but just because a couple people drop out for a week or two doesn’t mean stop playing, because otherwise then nobody’s there to start it up again. I have no problems playing other games too, but I’m not going to quit playing gg and consider wasted all the time I have put into it. y’know?
