The best home version of ST is on GGPO.
I don’t know shit about this topic, but pro player = top player. Don’t waste time arguing over semantics. You know what he meant.
I was saying that in my head too. Just throwing more nitpicking into the nitpicking pile. Would have been better off just saying “when you type DSP…it makes me mad.”
Here’s what I think and most people on SRK think. Adapt and overcome. If sticks, games, versions of games and whatever don’t feel right to other sticks, versions, etc. then you need to adapt and overcome. Just look at players like JustinW and PSX. They play with handicaps sometimes and still mange to play decent and don’t really complain about sticks, versions, etc. Bottomline is this: If blame shit on the game that you are losing then might as well not play. When I started playing SF in the arcades back in '91 we’d still play when some buttons didn’t work and managed to get decent matches etc.
Shirts: Are you going and if so do you have a team mate yet? Let’s bring back the old school and show these new schoolers who really runs Street Fighter
Ok, cool. I guess I’m a Super Pro player in Arcade ST.
Wait a minute? DSP is a “pro” console ST player because I never seen DSP do shit in Arcade ST.
Straight up, you guys should use the GBA version of ST.
so who are you to say stuff like this? you talk like you are a top player in st or something…
i was pissed when i rode 3 1/2 - 4 hours to SB2 an the shit was on DC again. like wtf360. pick one and use it
i totally agree with this thats what ive been saying. HF beats ST anyways in my opinion.
Here’s the reality. It doesn’t matter what version gets used, because most people aren’t going to practice on that version anyway. 90+% of people this year are going to get most of their practice on GGPO. The remaining ~10% will be a mix of arcade, AE, DC ST, and CCC2.
Look at last year. Everyone knew that we were using CCC2. Everyone owns a PS2. The game was out almost a full year before Evo. And yet, it seems like very few people actually practiced on that. If they had, people would’ve adjusted their timing for reversals and combos. They would’ve adapted to not being able to counter on reaction to some things. And there would’ve been a lot less bitching.
I agree that it seems silly to switch versions each year. Even still, I don’t think that sticking with CCC2 is a good choice. If nobody practiced on it last year, why would they this year?
Here’s to hoping HD Remix comes out in time
now what version of HF will it be?
SNES?
Genesis?
PC Engine?
MegaDrive?
SF Collections 1?
CCC1?
XBLA?
Switching to another even older version of SF2 is just going to have the same problems as ST, and no one has tested to see if HF has lag on SF Collections or CCC1.
Don’t look at me. I don’t care enough about HF to drop another 20+ hours into that kind of research.
lol I wasn’t, I was just stating that since we have never used a console port of HF for a tournament we don’t know what the differences are between that and the arcade. Lag was merely 1 possible example that came up during the ST CCC2 release and it isn’t unreasonable to assume that theres a possibility of that same problem existing in HF on CCC1.
another port could also be AE with Turbo only characters.
HF is too fast on ccc1. you can even tell by the sound effects, all sped up and high pitched. played it side by side with an actual arcade board. indeed faster… other than that, it seems to play ok
I totally agree, I remember going to evo 2k2 and there were a bunch of ST machines, man that was cool plus geting to kick it and play against Thomas Osaki as well.
Yup. Those were the days.
Say what?! Did someone actually mention going mode specific on AE?! Nah, that can’t be right. Heh, must have just imagined that or something.
**Sorry Dream & Sabre…I’ll kindly excuse myself out of this one
Seriously guys…GBA Version.
Will link cables be provided or do players need to bring their own? :looney:

I insist on only using my own GB, as I hacked it to be full Sanwa.
just listing possibilities for HF.
