Septimus Prime: i think their is build up cause its not like they all formed the x-men together in episode one. we still dont know how these guys at different ends of the spectrum are gonna come together…though i expect hiro to tell every0one and his grandmother he controls time and space.
i dont see how the cataclysm and orgnanization just happen. we dont know if their connected or not. saresh just assumed he was a badguy…obviously their playing him up to be but we dont know for sure.
i mean how is eveyrone pinpointing the genetic mutations?
also i d/l it so i didnt see a preview for next week but apparently my friend was saying that their are more powers to come.
i personally think it has build up for more…we still dont know if peter is gonna get offed…they crammed alot in an hour true…probably with this much hype gotten a 2 hour premiere movie. but i feel theirs enough to justify that it will be an exciting season and stuff to look forward to.
I think he might just get flight after all. I rewatched it and I completely missed the part where his brother lost his grip and dropped him. While, granted, any number of things could happen to prevent him from going splat, I think him gaining flight at the last minute is the more likely scenario.
I also have some ideas about the Wolverine cheerleader chick. I’m thinking she was suicidal thus having her depression before she found out about her power. I’m guessing she found out about her power when trying to kill herself one day. What clued me in on this was her saying “this was her 6th attempt” when she fell at the beginning. What was she attempting to do exactly? The wording there was just a bit odd to me, because if it was more of a stunt to see what she could do then I’d think it’d have been worded more along the lines of “this was the 6th time.” The obvious conflict to this idea though is the fact that ole’ dude said she was popular, and those people aren’t usually depressed enough to be suicidal. Another thing I think is worthy of note is that the guy she was with was very clearly not popular and was probably some kind of geek nobody talked to. Since she said “I’ll be sure to talk to you in front of people at school.” Which leads me to believe she’s embarassed to be seen with him normally. Perhaps their relationship has some kind of link to her depression.
All of this uncertainty, with her and all of the characters, is PLENTY of build up. I think some are seeking more plot-driven build up, when this is not a plot-driven show, it’s a character-driven show (as most shows are).
I think that the 6th attempt thing was just her 6th attempt to injure herself. If you had a power like that, wouldn’t you push yourself to see how far you could go? To see how powerful you are? I don’t think she’s suicidal, she’s just depressed that so many people think she’s perfect cause she’s so popular, but now she kind of thinks of herself as a freak.
As far as the younger brother goes: (SPOILERISH if you didn’t see the “coming up on Heroes”) He doesn’t die, but he does end up in the hospital. I guess the height he fell from after his brother dropped him was just enough to mildly injure him. There’s a scene (from a montage of scenes that were shown at rapidfire pace) that shows Peter with his brother and another guy outside at like a track or something and Peter looks like he’s wearing hospital pants with no shirt, jumping up. I think he’s trying to test himself out, maybe trying to fly?
With that said, I think the look of Peter’s brother flying looked really bad. And if he was right under him, why did he fly in from the side to rescue his brother? I hope the effects get better. I prefer the Smallville effects… (and this season of Smallville will be great)

If you are referencing the comic books, then you would be mistaken. The first team of Xmen were all introduced in the 1st issue, but flashbacks showed that the team wasn’t all assembled at once.
However, the second team of Xmen that was assembled to save the 1st team who had been captured by the living island of Krakatoa was assembled all at once in their 1st issue per se.
Maybe superspeed: he can steal anything that isn’t bolted down in the blink of an eye, sell it for crack, which gives him the strength he needs to steal the things that are bolted down.
I wonder if Claire’s dad is a villain at all or maybe he really does want to protect them and maybe Sylar is some other guy. I dunno but Sylar sure loves brains. He’s got multiple powers too (or maybe he’s got allies) !!
oh shit! This episode was too pimp. Hiro was broken before, but today they REALLY broke him. Next he’ll be taking people with him. I must say even with the obvious foreshadowing they pulled last week I didn’t see the end of this episode coming at all. Ole girl with the psycho reflection is broken now, too. I’m thinking she’s more like Multiple man cause how’d that damned shovel get out there where there are no mirrors, water, or other reflective surfaces? Perhaps her alternates can just hide in mirrors or something.
yeah. characters seem to come along pretty well now, especially the plot. the cheerleader is still a little generic though.
still very impressed with nikki. and hiro is officially too powerful.
and DAMN, that was a fairly gross episode. dead body hanging from stairs with knives peircing entire body, heads chopped off, upperbodies completely ripped to peices, etc.
