The HEROES thread

no shit! even in high school, i never saw the cheerleaders wear their shit more than one day a week…

a theory on how they could “fix” the problem serp suggests about just going to any point in time, it may have to be a time period that hiro existed in, whether future or past…maybe even a time period in which he existed with his powers, preventing him from going too far back…its just a thought…time manipulation is always one of those very sticky subjects to deal with, especially when you have overthinking people like us…your average american watching the show will not even think about it…

she lives in texas right? dont they take their sports 10x more hardcore than the rest of the us?

Well Claire is a cheerleader… that is her costume**. I think that as the show gets deeper and darker, you wont see her in that good-girl motif’.

first of all, how many cheer leader outfits does claire HAVE?!

second, i hate time travel. I mean if you could time travel, you should travel back to the beginning before it all happens, then everything would be fine.

third, i wonder how far into the future Future Hiro is from. He managed to speak perfect english, and now carries a sword. From previous episodes, it seems that the explosion was suppose to happen 5 weeks from when things started. I doubt so much can change in 5 weeks. So it leads me to believe that he’s from further into the future. But then again, who the hell carries a sword around in the present, let alone the future?

Well, its also possible (but unlikely) that he went to a time before all the hoo-hah to train in english and samurai swordsmanship. Or kept going back in time a la groundhogs day. In any case, future Hiro brings flashbacks of the end of Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey.

I think that Future Hiro is just really far from the future. I don’t think current Hiro has to go train in a timeless space. He has other heros (when they eventually meet up) to protect him from sneak attacks. But since there are probably 100s of heros to come, Hiro may have to contend with other time-space benders, hulk out ladies, and sync like dudes.

Plus, if you missed what I said before. Hiro = Hotsuma form Shinobi on PS2. And if you played it, then you’ll know how gangsta it is to basically cut through 7 dudes and watch their bodies slide into two (only Hiro doesn’t dash, he just freezes time).

He didn’t touch his brother the second time on that rooftop, and they’ve established that he doesn’t have powers unless someone with powers is around. He didn’t realize that he was flying, which shows that he can use his powers automatically.

And you don’t know which subway car it was that Hiro eventually found him on. Since we were given things from Pete’s perspective, he could have been searching for hours or days before finding him.

And if he had talked with future Pete before hand to know where he was, he would have said something like “I remember I was on my way back from Isaac’s with Suresh, because Isaac didn’t answer the door when I first told him I had my powers.”-- since this was the first time that he was trying to prove that he had powers to someone beside his brother, I’m pretty sure that would have stayed with him.

this argument actually makes me consider the possibility that peter is imune to hiro’s time stopping ability, though i’m still on the other side given the evidence otherwise…

thats a stretch, its takes much more assumption about powers to assume peter is immune than hiro has ultimate control of his power. HOWEVER, i will say that hiro could have known peter would be immune and planeed it as so, but i have a hard time believing peter remembers exactly where he was at that time, especially given the vastness of the new york public transportation system.

here is one theory that could support this, though it’s nothing more than something that just popped into my head. maybe, given its the future, the mind reading cop has harnessed his power to where he can actually read past memories and discovered where peter would be based off his memories. like everything else though, its just speculation…

Or, they could have pinned down Peters general location at that time period. I assumed that would be common sense. Do you REALIZE how incredibly stupid your long rant makes you look now?

Pete’s powers haven’t been explained yet so it’s still up in the air. One middle-ground explanation is that Pete needs physical contact to absorb a person’s powers… but needs to be in proximity of the original power user in order to use that power. Of course this doesn’t explain how he was able to draw the future since Isaac wasn’t around when he did it.

Why would he search for him on one of many subway cars when future Hiro could have just teleported into Pete’s apartment.

Well then why didn’t he tell Hiro to teleport to Isaac’s apartment building instead of having him search for Pete thru New York’s maze of a subway system which could take years.

well maybe the time stop ability prevents him from using a gun (bullet will not leave the chamber) so he carries a sword to cut his opponents while they are frozen.

It is far more plausible that Hiro (who’s from the future) had time to hone his powers such that he can stop time for who/what ever he chooses. Even if Peter could absorb his time stopping ability Hiro knows how to control it better than Peter does and thus automatically makes him more powerful and should be able to make Peter’s immunity irrelevant. Just like Peter’s brother who flew and knew how to do so where as Peter could only hover a few feet off the ground and then immediately fell to the ground once he realized he was even doing it. I also don’t think it’s ‘immunity’ at all. I.e. even Hiro should be able to be frozen in time, however since Hiro has the power to do this he’d have to actively use his own power to counter act that. And Since Peter doesn’t know how to do this it had to have been Hiro who chose not to stop time for Peter.

Now, had that been a future Peter then I’d definitely buy the fact that he may be immune, because he’d have had time to hone his abilities and be able to take on what ever powers he gained and at least keep a modicum of control over them. However this was an inexperienced Peter who doesn’t even know exactly what his power even is. He only ‘thinks’ it is power absorption.

As for Hiro finding Peter on the Subway. I’m going to have to agree with what someone else said about this being a way to add drama to the scene. Everything we know makes that whole idea ludicrous. Hiro should have teleported directly to Peter, or Peter shouldn’t have remembered his exact location, or Hiro shouldn’t have been running along the length of the train (he should have been teleporting through all the cars not running), or why choose the subway at all why not a place that he knows he’d be at? This all makes no sense at all.

About Hiro’s teleporting… When he first teleported he thought of a location (the womens restroom) he wanted to go to and he was there, then he thought of New York and he was there. I’m betting he can do the same with people. He can think of a person he wants to go to and he’ll be there with them whereever they are. Now, the complete lack of accuracy of his teleporting to a person seems silly to me. He should have appeared directly infront of Peter as soon as time stopped.

And lastly… for Peter and his uncouscious use of powers. Just about EVERY single show/comic/movie/book/etc that has people with powers (that can be controlled), those powers are almost always tied to their emotions. In every instance of Peter using his powers unconsciously he had some high emotions going on. When he flew the 1st time, he had the adrenaline of the fall, the fact that his brother flew up and caught him and then the scare of being dropped. When hew drew the future, he was in a hospital bed after being confronted by his brother who denied everything. When he flew the 2nd time again with his brother only this time admitting what happened and him arguing with him on the roof. He was so caught up in his rant that he didn’t realize he was flying.

I think the sword and future Hiro himself are a tribute to the dragonball Z character of Trunks.

In Dragonball Z, Trunks came from the future to give Goku a message. Same thing is happening in Heroes. Hiro comes from the future to give Peter a message.

Of course it’s unknown if Hiro actually knows how to use the sword. He might be cosplaying. LOL.

It’s far more plausible that it’s a TV show, and the subway sequence happened like it did because it was DRAMATIC AND FUN TO WATCH. Niggas catching feelings over this shit.

I thougth when Hiro first teleported to NYC he saw a picture of the Statue. So it could mean that he teleports to general locations, instead of exact locations. He could’ve teleported to the subway, but not the exact kart that Peter was on.

I’m with Serpent on this one. No writer is clever enough to handle have 2+ versions of each character running around through time.

Says the guy that came up with a stupid theory to explain it that started all this in the first place.

just watched the latest episode and while the majority is still up and down, damn if the show doesnt have the best final 5 minutes each time

HA! That’s the first thing I thought when I saw future Hiro!

Jeph Loeb MIGHT be able too.

He wrote long halloween !

Anyway, I think Peter was immune to the time stop. Peter is going to be broken.

I can’t wait till we see some TV level special effect fights.
