The HEROES thread

Charles noooooooooooooooooo

lol it doesnt help they’ve given nods to dbz, jojo,ff and just alot of asian action media.

Oh… blah, I guess I have to rewatch the first few episodes again. I’m pretty sure they’re going to be rushing for an initial DVD release, definitely should be out before next season hits.

Charles is really the father of Micah.
Now you’ll understand why he’s in a wheelchair.

August 28th on DVD and HD-DVD

Because even ted struggled to control his power. Because even Peter struggled/es to control all the powers that he has.

Only Sylar can get acquire a power then make his home in it almost instantly (compared to Peter).

Don’t forget about the other time before the last episode where he meets Hiro. Apparently all Peter ever thinks about is Ted, Parkman, Claire, and Invisi Guy.

Which brings up an interesting question: Can’t Peter absorb Sylar’s original power, which makes him able to learn other people’s shit almost instantaneously?

hiro should do da worldo. wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry.

CAN’T BREATHE!!! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I’m not so sure that Sylar ever used it around him so I can’t say. The superhearing should be his though. he wasn’t that far and he absorbed Isaac’s ability through the damn door lol.

Chaaarles! Chaaarles! Yer in my head, Charles. Get out my head, Charles… get out my head…

Nerf for who, Hiro or Peter?

Peter is nerfed because he is a stupid bitch.

Hiro is nerfed because he won’t kill people during time-stop. He needs to ditch the sword and pick up some knives instead.

And wasn’t Sylar trying to stop Peter from exploding?

just saw it. Pretty good episode, only thing i didn’t like/get was sylar letting hiro stab him. I mean he stopped the bullets with shorter notice. Overall though pretty good ep.

I liked the episode a lot. Sure, the Peter / Sylar showdown was a bit weak, but the development of the story and the unexpected start to Volume 2 were great.

I am still suprised there is so much hate, plot holes and comic book rip-offs aside, did anyone ever think there would be a prime time TV show with this subject matter as good as this, ever?

It’s a great show and as long as it doesn’t get caught up in it’s own story, like many people believe Lost has done, it can only continue to get better.

in an age where major stars are killing for a chance to be in comic book adaptions…no i am not one bit surprised.

I was disappointed by the lack of action that the finale had. I wouldn’t be so pissed off about if they didn’t advertise EVERY COMMERICAL THAT SOME HUGE SHOWDOWN WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.

Seriously. This episode was not what was advertised. That’s why I’m pissed. Also, if you watched all the episodes leading up to the finale (like me), even the characters made it seem as if Peter was going to be the only one who had enough power to stop Sylar. Then he takes dood out with 3 super-punches, with the Niki and Hiro assist? Stupid as fuck.

What’s this I hear about this season ripping off watchmen? I haven’t seen the show, but I was reading in quite a few places that they ripped off the end of The Watchmen. Is this true?

Not really.

I would say they borrowed a lot from it only because quite a few people seem to be completely unrealistic when they demand something “original” and then, as always, don’t specify what they mean by that so that they can’t bitch some other time…

Sigh.

That’s another rant for another time, however.

Anyway, just think of Linderman as Ozymandias and the Bomb as the Giant Psychic “Alien” and you’ll get what people are saying.

Dunno if he HAS to use it for Peter to jack it from him; Ted didn’t use his power in front of Peter, yet he started going nuke seconds later.

Yeah, I don’t think that Peter has to have it used around him as long as he knows you have it. At least, that’s the only explanation that makes coherent “sense” since from the drawings and paintings, due to Isaac’s ability, he already knew what Ted could do (which Claire confirmed).

As for not absorbing Sylar’s original power, I would have chalked it up to him not being able to absorb physical powers if it wasn’t for the random Nikki assist last night utterly shooting that down (…on top of Claire’s absurd healing abilities).

shrug

I just chalk it up as Sylar being a somewhat similar anomaly whose main power wasn’t copied because it’s essentially another mimicry ability. (However, it is even better one, given how quickly Sylar learns to use and control other people’s powers. So Peter not getting it was a way to make sure he wasn’t as broken since the writers can more easily “kill off” Sylar.)

As for why Peter has only gotten telekinesis from Sylar, it seems like it has to do with that mysterious thing discussed back at Primatech when Sylar was captivity–Wikipedia reminded me of this. For some, as yet undisclosed reason, when examined, telekinetic abilties were the only one of Sylar’s abilities that were able to be idenifitied. This seems rather weird given that he had at least freezing things and Charlie’s memory by that point, but, hey, maybe it will be explained early next season as well.

Yeah, Peter randomly grabbing Niki’s power in two seconds and using it to pound Sylar was WTF, but funny.

Heh, maybe he DID get the “learn stuff quickly” power.
