The Hajime no Ippo (HnI) thread - Gazelle Punch Her in the Gut!

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve never been one to bitch about slow fansubs, but I’m honestly confused. I’ve never followed a series that takes over a week to get subbed. Does the show air at odd times, or is something really strange with the process of subbing this one show? All the groups are extremely behind every week.

I said fuck it and watched 21 RAW. It’s also the same thing with Sengoku Basara. When the last 3 episodes came out, it took subbers on average a week and a half to come out with subs…

Yeah, I dropped Sengoku Basara after the first three episodes. I want to finish it once it completes, still.

I’ve only been into anime for a couple years, and I’m, for the first time, following multiple shows. It just seems odd that so many groups sub it, yet it comes out so late.

This guy is pretty quick… you should subscribe.

The guy on the quickdraw used to be SpeedStar, but once Youtube banned his account, he wasn’t getting good distro with his subs, so I’m guessing he quit altogether. I’ve used Asasasubs for the last few HnIs :wasted:

i don’t think so. i think he’s actually going to want so stay more than go off and suicide fighting against ippo once he hits the roadblocks set up for him.

Can I get a non spoiler explanation for Fumito Maikno picking up the Hitman style? He looks like a skinny short Mashiba in the HnI game.

Basically what I want to know is, did he learn it from Mashiba himself or through watching Mashiba?

Interesting episode. Good to finally see Takamura taking something seriously.

I’ve never seen worse fansubs in my life. I tried watching a couple, hoping they would get better, but they didn’t. It misses half of the dialogue, and is riddled with grammar and spelling errors every sentence.

I’m not selfish any more so than the next anime fan; I have no problem waiting for quality fansubs (even waiting for them to come out on DVD if necessary). I was just curious as to why this certain show fell so far behind every week.

he learned it by himself.

They were pretty bad and they did miss a few lines (most of which seemed self explanatory), but it was better than nothing IMO. The reason the speed is lacking is because sports anime isn’t nearly as popular as some of the “other” hot titles out right now (i.e. Bleach/Naruto), thus smaller teams are working on them.

just watch the raw and read the manga afterwards if you are that desperate

Assasubs has their slightly less shitty sub up for those that hate youtube: http://aasa.shrtl.com/

Animebreaker already has ep21 up.

it was good to wait for animebreaker. so intense.

Victorious Boxers: Revolution
Anyone play that?

I played for a month and never went back to it again.

That bad?

I don’t know if it was just me but it seemed like VBR had crappy hit-detection. Even worse than Wii Boxing.

The English-only voice-overs make the game worse, IMO. The Japanese voice-overs aren’t that much better since lots of the key characters aren’t the same (Takamura / Mashiba / Kimura / etc).

I played for a couple of days and stopped as well. The voices killed it for me.

-The controls weren’t that responsive.

-Not sure if the hit detection was bad, but I had a hard time knowing the distance between me and the CPU. Outboxing was out of the question.

-Get knocked down way too easily and if you play without the 3 knockdown rule. It’ll take at least 20-30 knockdowns to finish your opponent.

-Game is unbalanced as hell.

There’s more, but I rather not get into it.
